I wouldn't say the heap is a data structure, only the heap is.

It has to be tested in operating conditions, though; presumably the appropriate accountability here is just the company paying whatever the fine for a false report is.

This is fine for a basic crawler, but an LLM should by default have the same terms of access as if you asked your friend to do it (so it can't eg. do your tax returns, but it should be able to do basically anything non-official).

I think it's fine for LLMs to have a blanket rule of ignoring those, to be fair, it's not really any different to turning on a VPN to get around unjustified geofencing.

I assume they're either not Christian in a strict sense or would assert that all magic from evil sources derives from God as well.

The correct way to do 3. is the ad Brown just put out, though, not explicitly disavowing pro-trans beliefs.

Still, food delivery and e-commerce taking a slice of the market shouldn't be that debilitating to malls if they weren't having other issues.

Actually 54 is if the current polling is correct, you're thinking of 56-58.

I mean it's definitely primarily their fault in both of these cases, though that doesn't make it the best angle of attack.

More race blender than race mixing, I think.

I think it is most things except the far left, far right and some options too weird to characterize.

It's not inherently reactionary but I do think it excludes some possible ideological currents.

It's easy if you stick to your principles.

The fastest commercially used boats are competitive over distances of a few hundred kilometers, that ought to be enough for most uses.
010
Elpis @elpis.bsky.social · 04/10/2026
The water speed record is 511 kph, that's pretty competitive.

One could make the argument that the causality is the other way around and that modern Southernness results from the absence of real cities.

I do think it leads to perverse outcomes if you take this view and then also don't allow payment in kind, though.

When I did that in Singapore at least it was cheap.

Would make me more likely to support her, at least.

It seems clear that the real evil here is the South, though, eight of the nine worst are in or bordering it.

It's denser than a number of midwestern cities, including MSP which I feel usually doesn't get hit with complaints about sprawl.

There's no city in the US like Madrid, though, Phoenix has an alright urban spine now and I assume the others are likewise.

Logically the next question is whether islands should be sunk or given rail connections.

I would say for me it's more being strongly paternalistic than any sort of negative polarization.
030
Elpis @elpis.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
This is fine because it's less gratuitously slow to do by hand.

This is the equivalent of making someone do a bubble sort to teach the concept of sorting, though, there have to be better alternate algorithms to the lookup table.

Learning the general concept of subtraction yes, but this assumes you already know that.
110
Elpis @elpis.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
Whenever one of these comes up the technique they're trying to use is overly elaborate and unnecessary, though.

Elpis @elpis.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
Ah, I see, you have the overly entitled American freight railroad issue; then to compare to a group which appears to have been advocating a similar Calgary-Banff line including the addition of extra dedicated track for a while, it would probably cost three or four billion for everything combined.
010
Elpis @elpis.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
I'm basing this off the expenses for our most recent train purchases.
100
Elpis @elpis.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
I would estimate maybe half a billion to a billion for the trains, and I can't imagine the existing alignment is so deficient that substantial upgrades would be needed.

It's 240 km airport to airport in a mostly straight line, could do it in under two hours without anything fancy.

But this argument requires that the deranged driver do a meaningful amount of those things.

Elpis @elpis.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
Sovereignty is a bad argument here because the answer to "should the people of <area> have sovereignty over it" is always no.

There have to be easier hobbies to pick for that, though.

This is a pro-successionism account.

Wellington is ahead of every US city smaller than Pittsburgh combined (with about seventy million people between them).

There's a case to be made that there are zero proper urban rail systems in the US outside the Northeast.
The 100 largest cities in the US/Canada/Australia/New Zealand, with their population and rail ridership.

That only works once, though (and it's 35 people to twice the deficit, it falls off quite quickly).

Elpis @elpis.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
But it does imply they can pay more without hardship, and I don't really think it's possible to get a 25-30% increase in revenue without making them do so.
140
Elpis @elpis.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
Doesn't seem like a great trend, one must admit.

Elpis @elpis.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
Yes but also the middle class does need higher taxes, if I was conventionally employed at my current salary I'd pay 1-5% more in tax than I would for the same income in the US (despite superannuation being on top of base salary here and Social Security being a tax).

I would say social trust is good in general and unity is good when I agree with it.

Babel was good, though, so bad example here.

I do suspect that if your honest views are sufficiently weird that masking them to some extent increases perceived authenticity, though there's probably not many notable people in politics this would apply to.

Not sure I'd call it comfortable, Morales' entire margin came out of the chunk of Ward 13 he got around 80% of the vote in.

If you blockaded China to prevent it from importing any fossil fuels you'd probably cut more than 5% off globally, but you would probably also start WW3.

I do think we certainly want the average person to be more open to that insofar as foreign aid etc. is liberalism-as-tithing for the whole country.

I would say the way to square this circle is that text usually conveys a tone to any given person but it's not always the same tone.

Yes, but it is important to distinguish what is meant by "Australian mandatory STV" because usually STV refers to the multimember version here.
