Can't believe i neglected to post about the villain of my novel. Grecko Thomas - a demon straight out of Greed who won't stop until he rules over all of creation. Devourer of the first fallen and one of two demons currently contending for King of Hell. Stopping him won't be easy. ##writingcommunity

For me alot of times it's going through names until I find something that just sounds right, but I do occasionally look at meanings as well. In fantasy I'll usually take syllables from 2-3 names and glue them together

People mistook their lack of affection for a lack of love. The red in Miranda’s eyes and the tight shaking grip that Cain held his walking stick with both spoke louder than the stony neutral expressions they wore. They wouldn’t let their mourning be a grand public display. #WritingCommunity

A fantasy/occult tale of men demons and angels, the good and the bad of them all, and the desire to not just survive but live against the odds.

The arguing was making Himiko uncomfortable but they had many reasons to be uncomfortable. Being in Hell was one. The pain they were in was one. Knowing that the pain wasn’t just because they were an angel in Hell and that it was effecting everyone now joined the list of reasons. #WritingCommunity

“A question first - who here knows just what the weapon Grecko leveled against you was?”

Most had no idea outside of it being a spear. Dash and Estelle had their suspicions that they hoped were wrong. Himiko knew. Himiko knew and wished that they did not, because of how terrible the many many implications of it were.

“He was wielding The Spear of Destiny.” They spoke softly, because maybe if no one heard it wouldn’t have to be the truth.

“Correct.” The weight of that single word was crushing.

“Wait-“ Estelle interjected, her own fears confirmed. “You mean like *The* Spear of Destiny? As in the holiest of relics?”

The Dark Sun just nodded along as she asked her questions, eyes closed in contemplation. “Indeed. The Spear of Destiny, or the Spear of Longinus depending on the text, the lance that pierced the side of The Holy Son as he was crucified. His blood - the blood of god made man, soaked into the weapon that became a man-made Divine Weapon. One capable of altering reality at that. While mankind once kept it upon our plane during Hell on Earth it was retrieved by Heaven and has been safeguarded by the highest of high angels, the Archangels for the past 1800 years without contest. According to intelligence I was able to scrounge together while you recovered - Grecko did the impossible and not only entered Heaven without dying on the spot, but also managed to combat the Archangels in their own home and emerge victorious according to what his followers claim. While I’ve little reason to doubt it, I’ve also no means of confirming it beyond him clearly possessing the spear.”

He'd say it is, and as one of the two demons powerful enough to contend for king few can argue lol. He does have a pocket square that matches his vest - and a fancy cravat because regular ties are too casual for him.

I've had the ideas for what each Ring of Hell in my world represents for a while now, but I've finally started writing it all down at last. A snippet from my literal Hellscape world building describing what qualifies as 'Lust' in Divine Corruption. #WritingCommunity #Worldbuilding

The Ring of Lust, formed by Asmodeus, was the second ring to be formed as its ruler was the second of the sins to fall. Designed to punish Lust, while it is most commonly thought to represent only lust of the flesh - lust of all forms are all equally tormented here. Lust of Knowledge, and Lust of Power, are some easy examples. Still more are those who were thrill seekers, those who sought things for the sake of seeking them to a degree that was deemed vile - the adrenaline junkies that put everything else second and the blood lust of murderers who didn't care about their victims only the pleasure of death - they all wind up here just the same and are punished as equals.

When Grecko manages to steal The Spear of Destiny - a relic so powerful it can rewrite reality itself from the Heavens. The Dark Sun must turn to Humanity to intervene as it becomes apparent that Grecko, will not stop at just ruling Hell and aims to claim all of creation under his rule.

Two demons in particular have been fighting for the title of King of Hell ever since Lucifer and the First Fallen were killed and devoured. Grecko - The demon of Greed who consumed them and The Dark Sun - a Pride demon who along with his Acolyte are the only humans to have ever become demons.

Dash moved first- kicking for Grecko's chest forcing him to release his whip to dodge. The moment he let go of his weapon its shifted into a serpent lunging for the knight who threw his blade to avoid the viper's fangs. Weapons returning to them - they were back to square one. #writingcommunity

A man unknown to him, gaze and arm both locked in place - holding strong his blade that had the demon's whip tangled around it. Silvered armor and an age worn intensity. Like Grecko he had a divine visage and while Voshe couldn't explain it, unlike Grecko it offered comfort. #writingcommunity

Junebugged all morning, wound up doodling out some of the crests of a few of the demons in my story Today. Lets pretend I was actually able to get The Collector's and Grecko's symmetrical. #writing #writingcommunity #doodles #referenceart

The Collector's Crest - A scarab holding a coin, the body split by a cross. Located on the inside of his left wrist with the head facing towards his palm. When he makes deals with people it comes alive and crawls to their wrist, and marks them, their coin will depict an image of whatever they are meant to receive from him and his will show what they offered when in proximity to them.

The Dark Sun's Crest - an eye that also resembles a solar eclipse at the wedding ring stage of an eclipse. It is not always visible on him but if he is using his magic or forming a contract a glyph of the crest will start glowing infront of his left eye. When he is not hiding his rough appearance with magic it is visible like an open wound around his right eye and brow area.

He looked how so many described angels to be - flawless, perfect, beautiful. And yet there was something about him that was unsettling. Too flawless, an idealized being. It entered the world of uncanny. The storm that circled with him at the eye didn't ease that feeling. #writingcommunity #writing

Best thing with the trial for me is it's 30 days of use. So if you use it one day and let it set for 3 weeks you still have 29 days worth of trail left! - still have like two weeks on my laptop left.

Scriv was a game changer for me! Not just with the formatting for the book itself but for organizing notes and the entire writing process. Multi form tutorials to help all learning types is also a plus. Free trial is definitely worth checking out before committing to see if it gels with you.
