It is illegal to deport someone to a country where a US immigration judge has found they will likely be tortured. This is what happened in this case, and it appears that Serrano is being tortured in Ecuador. A federal judge needs toorder his return to the US. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/16/u...

State Department has still, as of Sept. 11, not published 2025 annual Human Rights reports for countries around the world. These used to be published in March every year, last year it was in August. Hiding the bodies takes longer I suppose.
