ruoye ends up being used as a makeshift bandage by hong-er after his eyes get removed, it’s very early life consists of “feeding” off of hong-er’s blood, although i haven’t really settled on what instigates ruoye’s sentience yet

primarily though e-ming’s power lays in giving xie lian the ability to deliberately manipulate fortune—e-ming attracts bad luck but xie lian can essentially steal someone else’s good fortune if he imparts an equal amount of bad luck to what he takes

e-ming isn’t really a saber here, but it can shapeshift i’m thinking that the majority of the time e-ming is kinda like a pendant but it can change forms into any tool or weapon if given enough power, given xl has none, this happens rarely and only through blood sacrifices

ruoye and e-ming swap masters for this (ᴗ_ ᴗ。) xie lian ends up keeping hong-er’s eye kinda as a cursed artifact for safe keeping after the building it was stored in got attacked by the spirits that escaped the royal holy pavilion, but e-ming doesn’t gain sentience until later
