Noelle Major @elliewith2ls.bsky.social · 13/03/2025It probably says that Marx and certain Marxist thinkers are very good at providing criticism and not so great at providing concrete solutions. 025
Noelle Major @elliewith2ls.bsky.social · 12/03/2025Also it feels like every history of marxism in the west is like. Anglo marxism sucks. They've never contributed anything lmao. And it's like ouch those are my guys ok. And I understand it's kinda true. But word it more pleasantly? 020
Noelle Major @elliewith2ls.bsky.social · 12/03/2025Honestly. Idk what to do if a detransition. That feels to strong a word. Stop identifying with this identity? See that also feels silly. I think I'd still use this account or name as a pen name. But honestly that feels like opening an old wound each time. Ok but constantly doing that...kinda based. 000
Noelle Major @elliewith2ls.bsky.social · 12/03/2025My goals for the new year were simple! Less academics and reflection. More action. And now I'm knee deep in two reading lists. Fetishism and Ideology and Analytical Marxism. Yeesh. And also disappointingly. A lack of writing. 010

Noelle Major @elliewith2ls.bsky.social · 15/11/2024Well. I've been reading a lot over the past year. Here's what I would say. Socialism: Utopian and Scientific (Engels) Wage Labour and Capital (Marx) Critique of the gothe programme (I really like this one for some reason.) Women, Race and Class (Davis) I can't speak for Lenin 110

Noelle Major @elliewith2ls.bsky.social · 14/11/2024Any particular chapters I should look at in volume 2? I know he begins to detail the roles of certain specific types of immaterial labor. Ie accountants etc. But like let's take for instance a museum greeter. 000
Noelle Major @elliewith2ls.bsky.social · 14/11/2024America could be bombed tomorrow and the DNC would crawl out of the ashes. That's how I often think about things. The parties are fundamentally institutions that form part of the country. They might change form/positions/staffers but idk. 010
Noelle Major @elliewith2ls.bsky.social · 14/11/2024Also, realistically, whether for worse or better. There seem to be many strands and approaches to marxism one could take. 000
Noelle Major @elliewith2ls.bsky.social · 14/11/2024If I had to take a stab at it. (In my own cynical and non-cynical way) it's to differentiate their politics and approach from their left of center counterparts. As someone who has been recently doing a lot of deep reading into Marx. I find there are many alleged marxists. Not sure if that's good/bad 100
Noelle Major @elliewith2ls.bsky.social · 14/11/2024Hi! As someone who doesn't know that much about DSA politics. Could you explain what made you form this question (if that makes sense.) Noelle Major @elliewith2ls.bsky.social · 14/11/2024Quick question for Bluesky marxists/leftists in Capital Volume 1. Marx mostly speaks on commodities and labor in terms of physical labor and material commodities. But obviously we live in a world filled with service industry workers some of whom do immaterial labor. What's the commodity they produce 200

Noelle Major @elliewith2ls.bsky.social · 12/11/2024Hey question. Why leninism? I'm being very genuine when I ask that. Most of the socialists I know irl identify as trots (though they kinda give off we're the true successors to the revolution and marxism ngl) 110
Noelle Major @elliewith2ls.bsky.social · 12/11/2024Hey i actually meant to ask. I've read 3 out of 4 these. Is there a reason to include Lenin here above any revolutionary Marxist? Since I know there are criticisms of him from other marxists. (I'm a baby Marxist so.) 000

Noelle Major @elliewith2ls.bsky.social · 11/11/2024I mean this feels like it's a somewhat lost in translation thing. Political science is also a science. But it isn't really a science.
