#poetry Three poems:
For Dancing

I am thousandfold but delirious, sickening primordial dark, my lives arc

On innumerable trajectories neither sure nor harkening to fated stars, shivering

Like a child afraid of far-flung possibilities, repetition void of all sensibility

Like seeing a face at dawn, but never my own; what certitude led me to forsake

Opaque calculations or sterile solipsisms, supplanted by multiplicities in an

Intersubjective rupture: fatal but unspoken, was always running through some

Convulsing convalescence, but broken halfway; valued presuppositions and

Judicial coroners, declare the eye or the I to be a conspicious sight, in a scene

Of distorted sympathies, all stolen, but I didn’t much care for that, then

Spectral recognition, overheating artificial light, desolate wilderness where

The possessed take note of a burnt-out sight; no eyes, all I, nothing without

A dialectical-dance illusion, opposite to ritual movements, that paradox without solutionNihilations

The distant resemblance of a long-drawn sigh

Artificial but wholesale, all that it provides

Meaning that is unsure but always deferred

And all the way down, differences preserved

In the dance of a linguistic turn, distended skin

Conditions the contours of every hollow grin

Every vocalisation lingers on the spaces between

The when and the how, the absence among every seam

And outside all that is held within; you dream

Of an enlightened darkness, illuminated by

Its shadows, where something momentous disarms

The self-certainty of the glancing alarmists

And overthrows the inherent regime; nothing

Is here, on your doorstep, pulling at the strings

Or the chords of a vocal discourse, other than

The strategy disturbed, the distance of consciousnessLandscape Memory

A recollection of every tear in our histories surmounted, outstripping the incline

Of culture’s shapeless, homogeneised mountains; below, the tormented landscape

Aches with the memory of an inhumanity bespoiled, torn from its roots as a tree

Without the justice of trouble or toil; frictionless dead, brooding and darkly callous

And transmutated into hollow-faced violence, stalking the weary-eyed’s shivering

Intuition, all that I could or could not be standing up to see, St. Just’s executioners

Smiling towards a new Me; but the blood flow stops, cuts through the wrists

A Martyr is remembered for her final work of art, not who she is; through the arches

Of a stone city, a confused judiciary of priests marches toward a misplaced salvation

Singing like sirens of a dead nation, “remember the World, remember the World”;

But I am more than a world, more than its terse negotiator; my contestations

Tear out the fabric of subterranean calculations, this history unreasonable and

Rational, I am scorned for seeking difference; but on this heath, I see your breath

Exhalations of second faces, traced as a chalk outline out in the Western

Setting sun — when you spoke a eulogy for a species unlike me, humanity;

What became of your once-indisputable memories? Forgotten, like the rest of these dreams

NEW ESSAY! I write disability and ability into stories about gendered conduct. Read if you’re interested in crip and neuroqueer theories and would benefit from a concrete analysis of how discourses of gender and dis/ability produce embodied identity. tenderlyborderline.substack.com/p/disability...

hi all, i’m showcasing my essays that did not receive readership. this essay argues that Mad thriving depends on the collective acceptance of distressed experiences. Mad thriving is not opposed to the presence of distress but depends on embracing it. tenderlyborderline.substack.com/p/toward-an-...

As if scratching out names on someone else’s shopping list

One realises there is no longer any turning back from this

Ceaselessly tapping on some disconnected light switch, as if

This face of depressions, like a kitchen made only of sinks

With its lonesome dream-landscape, drowned in streams

Of static on the television screen, was standing upon the roof of

A childhood home, stargazing at a crowd of stupefied satellites Built like a tableau of weak organs and vertiginous heights

Tumbling forth, descending from its corrugated cosmos and

Crashing on the countless fools taking apart my interiority’s foes

I am weakened by the world, taken at its word: useless passions

Invoked by some ritual dance, but nothing here nor there to supplant it

In this century of recollections, I have nothing but the gambler’s advantage

16. Idols (Nothing becomes Nothing)

Immersed in this perforated darkness, an idle idolatry harkens

Towards an edifice of dislocation that irrevocably startles

All of the hollow faces and their machinic partitions, flickering

As disobedient electrical fixtures waiting to become a sickness

Unto death — where all of that oxygen, and all of that breath

Is wasted upon a walking cadaver whose movements are bereft

Of symbolic-atomic facts, a world of everything that is the case

A passageway through concrete and steel, the burning of the gates

Of worship — weaving across a sun-starved night, beyond these

Brittle occurrences that inspire neither fealty nor faith

For the wise and the foolish cannot see with lucidity

The nothingness that becomes nothingness, the room with an empty seat

Our tether is tenuous and thin, my old friend

You are my discordant twin, once and forever offended

In the dreadful pursuit of a millennium’s progress

And all that is subsumed in the scientific causes

Of modernity; once we were free in a desolate age

And now, amidst abundance and plenty, we take aim

Upon the wounded egos of masters and their slaves

In the absence of Being, they stand in its worn out name

So that little remains between the skin and bone

Between oppression and heat and the bloodied soles

Of their jackboots; once there was Heraclitus and the lyre

It agreed by diverging from itself, in difference is our wealth

To the nihilists of our time: rid the skull of its pretence

Or otherwise turn to face the God turning away, and take aim

Despondent architects of aching limbs and pressures

A sordid suture to hold that sense of self together

Battered and bruised on a throne of skin leather

Perched atop is all of my fetid brain-matter, leaking out

Stark as a music without sound, as a circus of frowns

Contorts to the ethics of consensual sense, held close and found

By searchlight scientists and their rigor morticians

Carving off a kindness from a wandering bone crown

Whimpering like starved dogs at a satisfaction profound

As if the Real would emerge from its own burial grounds

A skeleton key to the values that nothing else has found

Among my cavalcade of decayed emotions, but a herald

of the New Earth looks out upon the coastline and bluffs

Mouthing, “You’ll never be enough.”

Current projects: 1. Beyond here is Nothing, a story of cosmic horror, existential anguish and the unravelling of a world across innumerable centuries. Explorations of consciousness, meaning, eroticism, reality, spirituality and violence, all mediated through the lens of a traumatised vampire lady.
