yeah i don't know if taking an hour every day to submit to magazines is that great an idea. at that point, you're just betting more to mitigate your losses imo.

"I was thinking today, and feel free to skip this bit cause it’s just me doing some bullshit musings. But submitting a piece to only 1-3 places makes rejections hurt so much more for some reason. For example, I had a piece I loved sent to 2 places. When those folks rejected me, it hurt quite a bit.

But a couple months ago, I sent out a collections to like…24 different lit mags. I got rejections left and right but barely noticed because I knew it had plenty more chances. Then, last week, it was accepted to one of my long-time dream publications.

I think it’s worth scheduling an hour or so to submit a piece to many mags at once, especially when targeting tough places. Not only does it increase your chances, but it super takes the sting out of those rejections (at least for me). "

back when i used notion and it got pretty aggressive with its AI advertising (p early on) i was curious what that LLM would cook up if i asked it to come up with a story like mine. the results were incredibly banal... can't even cook up a proper 3 act story to save its life LOL
