anywaysss sorry for the long rant 😵‍💫 i know i’m lucky to still have grandparents around since a lot of people don’t. it’s just hard watching her go through all this, and my poor grandpa having to deal with her ever-changing moods

so now it’s a waiting game to see if she can bounce back from that. she damaged her kidneys from the level of dehydration she was at :/ she’s very stubborn and doesn’t listen to others even when they try to help. it’s hard seeing her still not take care of herself

tw: medical talk + she had a BIG hiatal hernia (stomach bulges up through diaphragm) so she couldn’t eat, and went through with a risky surgery. it seemed to work a bit but then she couldn’t keep food down and spent more time in the hospital last week from severe dehydration/malnourishment

tw: medical talk my grandma has been through a lot recently. broke her back, non-cancerous brain tumor (now can’t smell and has memory issues), fell again, had appendix cancer that spread to her colon so had appendix removed, plus part of her colon. and then just at the end of last year +

but overall it was a good trip! i visited my grandparents, and while they can be difficult to be around sometimes, i know they might not be around much longer bc of many recent health issues, so it was still good to see them! (and glad to escape the cold and have a few days in the sun)

i’ll still try and get the birthday art done but the commission is top priority since it has the possibility to turn into a bigger project for the person if they like it! also it’s just. so hard to draw around family. i don’t want to explain a million times what im doing and why and who is it 😵‍💫😵‍💫

i can’t post photos or else you’ll know where i live but i went to a christmas market today and it was crazy!! i was NOT expecting so many people. most of the vendors were cash only so i didn’t get to try any foods but i did buy a christmas ornament and then a hot chocolate in a cute souvenir mug ☺️

i am their youngest grandchild. and only 1 of 3 who’s not married+ has kids. but like. i know for a fact they wouldn’t buy the other 2 a plane ticket to go visit lmao. so it just made me laugh a bit. i also have an older sibling. so also just funny that they’re not invited 🤣

100

Ellaria Peregrine 🪻🖤 • COMMISSIONS OPEN • @ellariavt.bsky.social · 20/12/2024

and this thing she needed to tell me was that she wants to buy me a plane ticket to go visit her and my grandpa. which like hell yeah it’s warm there and there’s lots of pools whereas i live in an icy frigid city. the strange part is. they aren’t doing this for any of their other grandchildren

but anyway i missed her original call (because it was 8:30am and i had gone to bed only 2 hours prior) and she left a voicemail that was like “i need to tell you something. it’s nothing bad. please call me back” but you know. spoken like an 83 year old. so around noon i wake up and call her back

why do i only post here in the middle of the night? idk but it’s fun. so here’s todays story: my grandma called me today. which is unusual. i don’t get a lot of calls unless amazon is trying to deliver to my apartment building, and it’s more rare for non-amazon calls to be this particular grandma

this is making me remember all the anime i wrote papers on…. let’s see so there’s howls moving castle, tokyo ghoul, given, orange, a silent voice, i want to eat your pancreas. and i gave a very spirited lecture to a past coworker about your name bc emotional damage

he emailed me after reading it saying that he never realized a lot of the stuff i had pointed out and he would watch it again and give it a fair chance. this was a film class so the paper was a legit assignment but still. i was upset hearing him hate my fav movie so i retaliated

Ellaria Peregrine 🪻🖤 • COMMISSIONS OPEN • @ellariavt.bsky.social · 19/12/2024

a fun fact because insomnia goes hard and i can’t sleep: when i was in college, i had a professor who was hating on howls moving castle. and that is literally my favorite movie ever. so in retaliation i wrote a 6 page paper about the movie and +
