I think I am announcing it first here! I am switching For Those Who Seek Magic over to self publishing. This is a long time coming, as it is I think a bit too weird for traditional publishing and I have made my peace with that. #writingcommunity #ampublishing #publishingnews #neres

The goal is For Those Who Seek Magic, it's a YA Fantasy, Margie Turnell loves fantasy books, and knows magic is real, but isn't prepared for it to be way messier than books make it seem.

#writingcommunity, what is our takes on comping adult books when your book is YA? I have two YA comps, but I want a satirical fantasy book in there, (specifically How to Become the Dark Lord and Die Trying) to explain my tone. I have looked for a YA satirical fantasy and simply can't find one.

Separate it into two different edits then! Have one edit where you can only add words, then give it to beta readers before you allow yourself an edit to trim some fat, it'll give the words some time to settle, and you might realize you need more than you thought.
