A great comeback by Argentina. I watched an Egypt player use both arms to hook up under the Argentina player under his arms and lift him up to stop his access to the ball. Argentina 🇦🇷 deserved the win.

Argentina, as Egypt holding on to opposition players is problematic for me. Go 🇦🇷 Argentina.

Sincere just kissed the new bombshell after giving Mel so much grief about getting excited about the new bombshell. He’s in trouble.

How does this bill stand now legally. I know I have a lot of questions, I fear for actual DV/SA survivors.

Only on episode 2 so far. Not working for me so far, hope their characters develop quickly. It’s my retreat from the Shirilla and Blake Lively drama catastrophes.

Does it mean if others are offended by another’s opinion it is now classed as part of this new risk category. Do we understand how easily offended, people get even when there is no intent to offend. Will there be a rash of new complaints trying out these laws just to punish or retribution.

I don’t journal about myself or family. Researching Ancestry made me realise I understand the history of their time but not the impact and how they felt about it. So I journal about the global issues and its impact on the world I inhabit. It’s often very therapeutic. It also opens up your interests.

Zionism isn’t only related to the Jewish state of Israel. It is also a definition for churches in South Africa who practice Christianity, while incorporating elements of traditional African beliefs. Definitions matter as they can explain its broader context. Popular musings can alter/delete context.

Before Bondi Beach, I probably wouldn’t have noticed. But since then it has been quite relentless. I have seen protests in New York barring entrance to synagogues and also uni classes to Jewish people. Also many other reports. I just want Iran to have some equal coverage, fighting for freedom.

I suspect many will dismiss Iran because most want Palestine to remain the top priority. Other tragedies occur and we are not allowed to grieve for long, then you start asking more questions. Iran is fighting for their life and the bravery we are witnessing is amazing. They want their King back.

Bondi Beach tragedy was my wake up call. A program I enjoyed previously didn’t even mention it. Maybe it was prerecorded but in the month following-not one word. And they have an Aussie on their team. They mention every other global issue. I will be watching to see if Iran makes it on their show.

The left is starting to resemble the ugly side of MAGA and giving the world fatigue. It’s not the first time a white woman has been killed by law enforcement. Remember how you all blamed the Aussie woman for her stupidity in approaching the police car. We all need to stop being useful idiots.

3. In the best interests of the country. The King of England can dissolve the current government and force a new election. It has happened before once, I didn’t agree with it then. But given the last 10 years, maybe it’s a good loophole to avoid a bad government outcome.

2. I probably understand more about your elections over the last 10 years. If you copied our process only as a test case, you would have a different statistical analysis. I understand it may not be viable, as we don’t vote for a leader, we vote for a party. If the party doesn’t govern

1. Aussie here, I love our mandatory voting in elections here. If my team doesn’t win at least I know it really was the voice of Australia. I can live with that. It is almost like continuing education on your civic responsibility. When you are young, your participation is a learning process.

Was thinking a similar thing. I don’t really think it would happen, but then most things that happened this year were not even imaginable.

Books: I purchased myself a Fiction Book Advent Calendar for this December. So far it’s an interesting selection for the first 5 days. I will now have 64 books in my TBR pile. Loving that, if I find any I’ve already read - I will gift them to family.

In Australia, pretty much most nights thunderstorms and lightning. Ordered pizza delivery was by bike. I mentioned the weather as it was off in the distance - but it will come closer. All I could say is please be safe.

A little different than our Australian version. I like that all couples were at the same resort and they got some group time there. Also that family time happened more organically. Interesting dynamics so far.

Interesting idea, but I knew I rarely use it. So I looked and forgot that I wrote a small thing about being at my mother’s funeral. Memories.

Watching The Ashes Rugby League 2025. A hat trick is a great victory for Australia. Reece Walsh sure knows how to sidestep the opposition. All the players did exceptionally well. 🇦🇺🏈🏈🏈

Since the workloads are the same, this is not acceptable. Never has been. If a company can pay someone less than others, the workload should reflect that difference. The point is that they have to pay for everything as an adult. Especially if they are living away from home.

They still require customers to purchase. And guess what machines break down all the time. Humans then have to repair them and do the work until they are back on line. I guess we won’t need to repopulate then if there is nothing to repopulate for.

Russell Crowe playing Hermann Goring, I am more aware of the story of his younger brother Albert Goring. A fascinating character and upon listening to Russell discuss the role of Hermann - I tend to agree that he may have thought he could control the Nazi narrative until he couldn’t.

Binged it today. So good to be reminded what happens when media think the rules don’t apply to them. Thankful “The Guardian”, brought it to light.

3. I went to a meeting where they gave suggestions on how to avoid being part of the congestion by walking to work. I went to the games and after spending a full day there and eating there, all I wanted to do was get home. I wanted to go as the games atmosphere is intoxicating.

2. Another reason was that athletes visiting families were invited to the games village to have breakfast together. Also many businesses that weren’t directly involved were asking staff to take leave to avoid traffic congestion. Staff on leave didn’t hang around they went on holiday elsewhere.

1.Commonwealth Games 2018 in Australia. Many businesses were encouraged to stock up to provide for the many visitors. Shocking results came when visitors didn’t frequent those businesses. Obviously after a long day at the games and following early starts, they maybe were too tired to bother.

2. Why call the police, it is just a kid on a bicycle. I chatted with her for a few seconds and asked her where she was from. LA she said and I told her my sister is in America at the moment on a holiday. I said have a lovely time while you are here. She unnerved me more than the kid on the bike.

1. I had a mini break at a coastal resort Mantra on Salt Beach in Australia. I was just relaxing on a bench soaking up the sunshine. There was a kid with a bicycle doing wheelies in the distance. An American tourist walks past and starts complaining and said has anyone called the police.

Eliza Tully @elizatully.bsky.social · 04/10/2025
You think this is insane and then you know it is really insane. A tourist isn’t a citizen, so when they see reports of them terrorizing their own citizens - you understand how far down the totem pole you are.

I also read a dystopian novel about America titled “An Ocean of Minutes” by Thea Lim. I read this in book club before the pandemic. Current times remind me of this book.

Seeing President Lincoln just reminded me of reading “Lincoln in the Bardo”, I wonder how we would explain the current political trend to him. I’m feeling his deep sadness at this moment.

Apparently a lot were pulled from the marathon. My friend said there were 2 bus loads of participants. Some refused and kept running, told them they didn’t travel half way round the world to not complete. Still wouldn’t allow them to cross the finish line. Have to wait for them to answer complaints.

I’ve just started this book and in my book journal I listed the genre as Medieval Feminism. I’ve been reading a lot of Australian writers lately without originally knowing it. So happy to support Aussie writers.

2. I’m left leaning, always have been. But because of my age, if I even open my mouth in a conversation with the younger generation on politics, I get shut down. So journaling has become the only voice I’m allowed to have. I’m only useful if they need union intervention at work.

1. Journaling for me started after a car accident. But about a year in and I was boring myself. So I started writing in journals from a philosophical stance. There is always something happening in the world that needs your attention. The more you apply yourself the more you learn. Your voice.

Eliza Tully @elizatully.bsky.social · 23/09/2025
My writing solution is journaling. Mostly representative of what is happening in the world. I have since found out that you can leave them to various intstitutes that can host them for historical reasons for future generations.
