and like, with such a long time before impact too 😭😭😭😭😭 I genuinely didn't know what to do except take some stuff off my shelves that fell down the last time a bigger earthquake hit, get a bit more dressed in case we needed to go outside, and wait now I'm just wondering what happened.....

one more thing related to the superlong thread I just posted lol but I truly do feel blessed for having such strong online+offline friend groups it might be small and i might be bad at keeping up sometimes bc unfortunately my brain is a little spicy but every single one of you means the world to me

040 4

Eliza Fustel @elizafustel.etheirys.social · 13/10/2026

I'm just rambling now bc it's 3am but yeah it was definitely in middle school but it was also in middle school that I learned to make peace with it because despite that first "friend", I was thankfully soon blessed with a really really strong friend group for the rest of my time there

Eliza Fustel @elizafustel.etheirys.social · 13/10/2026

I still remember how we sweet talked the meanest teacher in school (our homeroom teacher) to let us switch seats and sit next to each other bc we caught her on a good day and she never yelled at us compared to the other students lol (bc we were busy writing & looked like we were taking notes lmao)

130 3

Eliza Fustel @elizafustel.etheirys.social · 13/10/2026

we were both really into Yu Yu Hakusho and we did lots of Canon/OC rping by writing on the back of school flyers (so we could easily hide them if the teacher passed by) and she was basically my beta reader for my first fanfic and I later wrote her OC into it so she could get with Kurama (´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥｀)

Eliza Fustel @elizafustel.etheirys.social · 13/10/2026

when I say "went through a lot" I mean she got a lot of weird flak for being adopted and wasn't very well liked because she was grouchy all the time which was SO weird to me because for me she was the absolute sweetest and coolest and most fun person to be around

120 2

Eliza Fustel @elizafustel.etheirys.social · 13/10/2026

one of whom got suspended for bringing a bullet knife to school bc he was a dipshit & I didn't see him until our 8th grade trip to Disneyland, whereupon my (real, true, we went through a lot) bff at the time and I both promptly slapped him for being a dipshit then spent the whole day with him LMAO

130 3

Eliza Fustel @elizafustel.etheirys.social · 13/10/2026

lmao in 7th grade when my best friend at the time said she actually always hated me because I was so weird and only put up with me throughout 6th grade because I let her copy my work all the time that shit sticks with you man, but I did find a better friend group of like minded weirdos after that

⚠️ Just a heads up art friends!!! VISTA PRINT is running stuff through AI if you ask for fixes! My friend made a shirt through them to wear for a con and the first print was too dark so she asked them to please fix it so they uh i guess ran it through AI? stop using vista print

comparison chart of vista print using AI to brighten an image thus making all the image... bad.

the AI "fix" of the original image vista print provided

the original piece sent to vista print to be printed on a shirt.

shirt comparison, top is the AI fix bottom is the original dark piece and why it was asked to be remade from vista print.

i think in lieu of everything, a gentle reminder that its okay if you got tricked by something thinking it was human made when it was gen ai. whether you choose to continue to engage with it or not is the problem. being fooled doesnt make you a bad or stupid person. do not beat yourself up.

For me good art has to put its head into the jaws of Insisting Upon Itself and sometimes it gets devoured but the greater sin lies in the opposite direction, which is never giving us the chance to care at all

it's ok eng drk I still love you, I'll just take what I like out of the eng script and smoosh it into the jp themes and characterization and literally everything else and run for the hills

in these moments the script in stb is shackled by what was decided in hw in english. so riel's personal arc? butchered, if it isn't totally gone. ideas of loss born of love being sources of power? turned into vague posturing about the abyss.

played through more of stb drk on my alt the funniest thing about keeping the english script on hand is getting three lines in a row that all match up, only for english to do a wild left turn because the hw quests were allergic to the concept of love being the source of a dark knight's power.

Eliza Fustel @elizafustel.etheirys.social · 11/10/2026

but I do agree with you on the, like... state of things back when DRK was first introduced, I think ENG fans in general are just a lot more cynical and even now, earnestness and vulnerability are really, REALLY looked down upon, and now it's just usually covered up in snark rather than edginess 🥲

110 1

Eliza Fustel @elizafustel.etheirys.social · 11/10/2026

unfortunately, as of level 68, the stormblood quests are STILL jumping through every hoop and backflipping at every opportunity to avoid any mention of love whatsoever compared to JP and it's.... depressing😔😔😭😭😭 I think it isn't until the capstone itself that Rielle finally says it straight out LOL

Eliza Fustel @elizafustel.etheirys.social · 11/10/2026

like, eng FINALLY gets around to it at the very end, but it honestly feels more like an afterthought rather than like.... the entire screaming-it-from-the-rooftops thesis it has been from the VERY BEGINNING in jp 😭😭😭😭😭

110 1

Eliza Fustel @elizafustel.etheirys.social · 11/10/2026

that's pretty much where I'm at, there's some things I absolutely ADORE in english, but overall it's just so............... like christ, no wonder so many people misunderstand it and think it's just the edgy mcedgelord class

110 1

Eliza Fustel @elizafustel.etheirys.social · 11/10/2026

drk eng really is allergic to the notion of love isn't it

240 4

Eliza Fustel @elizafustel.etheirys.social · 11/10/2026

love how the eng drk quests just constantly write rielle and her emotional journey out of everything lmao 🫠I mean, I love Sid, but mannnnn (we're going through 60-70 now)
