So practical, so sensible, also humane. Also contributes to less anxiety and hate and weirdness. Let’s push back against the 1971 Powell memo, which helped launch the #oligarch culture.

Chris Murphy, Brian Schatz, Ro Khanna? All have shown courage and skills to convince Reps to forge alliances for ethical stuff. Maybe Van Hollen? Wd they want to give up their independence? Dunno.

Oh the poblanos, the poblanos from the garden, at last! Can't think of anything more beautiful. So, yeah, I made chiles rellenos tonight.

Absofreakinlutely. Guy's a dangerous narcissist. The Emmanuel brothers will be an interesting study for future historians.

I used to do that; now I just tell them I took the bp at home (I had already calibrated the cuff to theirs, so I know it's accurate), tell them the completely normal bp reading I got, and repeat that the bp is well controlled at home. They like that.

I see (and hear!) one every once in a while, last time about two years ago. I'm near YNP, so east of the divide. I wonder how far west they've been seen? #birds #birding #MT

Elizabeth McN @elizabird.bsky.social · 21/09/2026
True. There have been great, qualified women who had spent their careers working for the people of MT. Unfortunately we don’t have any of that in this candidate. We need her to drop out already.

Put those puppies in a box with a banana and they’ll ripen up in no time or else make green tomato chutney, yum! #gardening #tomatoes.

Interesting. Though this is Montana so not much goes on in February. I bought organic seed potatoes from the nursery, sprouted them, then sliced in two and planted April 22. Never seen my potatoes so big, so I guess the planting holes were the proper depth this time. #gardening

Welp, if your bulb of garlic is anything like what came out of my garden this year, you might want to reconsider, LOL! Gigamumdo amd I ain’t complaining.

Yuck! But making ricotta is so easy. Just milk and lemon and/or vinegar. And much cheaper than (moldy) store-bought.

Or passata. Just food mill ‘em raw, freeze, and you’ll have the taste of summer in your pasta sauce in the winter! #garden.

Wait, whut? These Huckleberry Golds are massive! First plant I have harvested, and if they're all like this I'm going to be eating potatoes at every meal for a year! #vegetablegarden #garden #produce

And have you read the ingredient list of Thomas'? They last for weeks and weeks unrefrigerated because they're so full of not-food stuff. Good for you!

You go! Use the guard and a piece of wax paper to catch the lovely stuff and go for all the fab things you can make. Took me a sec, but it’s worth learning the safety stuff.

No. It acts on cabbage butterfly larvae, causing them to stop eating, so they die. Sad for them, of course, but it doesn’t affect other insects.

Montana here. Those are so beautiful. I also have cherries, San Marzanos and Cherokees. Weird weird year. Just praying for breaker stage before frost! Then cardboard boxes, bananas!

I am privileged to have a special mulching friend: a huge maple tree whose fallen leaves cover my beds all winter. So many worms and things now!

Yes, AND OTOH, if you're tired, frustrated, depressed, sometimes cooking an egg or two, putting a salad on a plate, will give you a big boost! Simple food is beautiful, and beauty feeds the spirit!

Started making bread recently. Switched to weighing everything in metric and now I get annoyed with any recipe that calls for “2/3 cup” of something.
