The al Fresco event is today, 11a-4p @ Main St & Longs Peak in Longmont, CO. Several makers will be set up on the sidewalks and many stores will be having sales. Come get a jump on holiday shopping or find a treasure for yourself. I'll have (mostly) mugs and ornaments for this event.

It's been a minute, Bluesky. I'm still busy creating, but the world seems to be on fire (literally & metaphorically) & it's tough to get out of my mind. So, thought I'd share 1 of the more recent hanging creations to hopefully bring a 🙂 to someone else.💕🥰 Have a wonderful day! #pottery #ceramic #art

You know, I really love that as many (& there are so many) potters/clay workers that I have had the opportunity to see in the world, we all seem (for the most part) to find a unique point of view, finish & technique...and I truly appreciate it. I'm really more of a sculptor but I've enjoyed making

Three good things to start my day: 1) Thankful for a wonderful open studio yesterday.🏺 2) Grateful for two healthy & happy (maybe overly so on some days) dogs.🐕🐕 3) Appreciative of a partner who helps not only me but others as well.🆘🙋‍♂️

A little 3-artist pop-up today from 11a-4p. If you are in the area/local, we'd love to see you.😀 The event will include jewelry, painting and clay (sculpture/pottery), if these are things you enjoy.

Made ornaments to thank our dog trainers for the last 8 weeks of our youngest dog's 4th round of training. Hopefully, things will click this time around for all of us.🐕🐾 If nothing else, they will have a reminder of the problem child they never hope to see again.🤭

These pup mugs are making me so happy! Can't wait to share them with others at upcoming spring events.🐕🐾😀 I'll be in Lafayette, CO, for Art Night Out on May 9, 5-9p. If you are local, come and say hi.

Glazing dog mugs. 🥰🐾 What breeds would you want to see? These are just a few, and they vary significantly (with some having patterned backgrounds and some having thumb rest decorations on the handles), but I will be curious to see if pup-peeps like them.

I'm debating whether or not to make more of these. I made samples first because I knew they would be bright. Typically, I haven't gone this intense with saturation, but change can be nice too. If you have thoughts I'm all ears, or eyes, I suppose.😁 #brightcolors #ceramic #pottery

Took one of the pups to Goldens in Golden today. SO MANY GOLDENS! Literally everywhere. It was amazing. My boy just turned 2, so wasn't sure how well he'd do. You can see he was stressed, but super proud that he had great interactions w/people & dogs. Next time will be better🤞🐾 & we'll linger a bit.

Argh! I'm in the middle of making a large order of plates, and I don't have room to make or fire them all at once in my studio/kiln, so it's been split into three parts. The first part is currently in the kiln firing so I thought I would start making the second part. But, the future owners and I

I've been terrible about posting things I'm working on this year, but I've been busy making lots of treasures & working on a large commission order. Here's a small sculpture that I made in early January. She cracked quite a bit in the initial firing, but I know why, so I may try again.☺️ #ceramic

so I think I have some research to do!🙂 Thank you so much for your thoughts.🙏

110

Eliot Arts @eliotarts.bsky.social · 31/01/2025

I think this is the next avenue of exploration, so I appreciate your input (very much so). I believe I need to set this as an intention to explore galleries that seem like a good fit. I hadn't considered wholesale craft markets, but this was recently mentioned in passing by a local acquaintance,

110

Eliot Arts @eliotarts.bsky.social · 31/01/2025

What's the answer? I'm not sure I have one, but am definitely in research mode if anyone has ideas.

100

Eliot Arts @eliotarts.bsky.social · 31/01/2025

sharing on socials and seeing ideas being stolen by others, which makes me hesitant to share more (though I realize this is nearly unavoidable in today's world). So then I am left with finding art markets/festivals which are both expensive and not always financially smart. So...

100

Eliot Arts @eliotarts.bsky.social · 31/01/2025

Sometimes it feels like the world makes it difficult to share art. I was pondering finally adding items to my Etsy shop, but have read a lot of negative opinions/seen many leaving the platform (for a variety of reasons) & thought better of it. But, I've also experienced what others have when

Eliot Arts @eliotarts.bsky.social · 05/01/2025

I am so sorry for your loss. And it is a loss, so please do allow yourself to mourn. My friend and I visit a local pottery guild sale every year and get matching mugs so when we use them we think of each other. Everyone has been told not to use these, but it happens even with instruction not to.

110

Eliot Arts @eliotarts.bsky.social · 04/01/2025

Maybe you could try it here on BS? Post a pic of what you have to trade and start a category where people can post too? I know many folks would likely be into this idea.😃
