llanero24 @elgranj.com · 13/10/2026That's the patter of voting mostly around the world. People tend to vote for their 'teams'. The problem is, once you lower the bar, it's pretty hard to bring it back 😕 000
llanero24 @elgranj.com · 13/10/2026The sad part is that the bar is on the floor, meaning, any future republican party candidate with 75% of the issues Paxton has, will look like a decent one, thus wining again? 🤷🏽♂️ 100

llanero24 @elgranj.com · 10/08/2026Nobody's forcing anyone to get the vaccine. Indeed there are limits on social gatherings, if one doesn't have it. Why? Because sickness/virus will be spread by *breathing*. Since there's no method to detect such a scenario, vaccinations is the only safeguard. Is that straightforward. 000
llanero24 @elgranj.com · 09/08/2026I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. I said "Biological systems are not binary. They fluctuate" then you replied "They aren’t binary. There is nuance.". Is it not saying the same? 100
llanero24 @elgranj.com · 09/08/2026We don't know how a (any!) virus is going to mutate. Period. Whatever conditions forces this mutation is outside of our control, thus making it unpredictable. Some people might do an educated guess, but that's about it. Vaccines help reducing spread & others benefits, but there's no 100% guaranteed. 100
llanero24 @elgranj.com · 08/08/2026That's the wrong take. Biological systems are not binary. They fluctuate. Human beings are biological system, thus you can't produce something to be consumed by homo sapiens and expect to behave the same in ALL of them. Unrealistic. 100
llanero24 @elgranj.com · 08/08/2026"We knew how a virus will mutate" No you can't! Otherwise flu wouldn't exist anymore. That's the whole challenge! Maybe someday we'll reach a level of knowledge to be able to predict mutation, today it's not possible. 110
llanero24 @elgranj.com · 08/08/2026We don't know as humanity (that's the whole point!). We don't know how a virus will mutate. It all depends on the virus/sickness itself. On some sickness the vaccines will more effective, on others not as much. But we CAN'T proclaim that vaccines doesn't work because they're less effective on some 100
llanero24 @elgranj.com · 08/08/2026Then you're answering yourself. You're admitting that on variants sickness, the effect of vaccines is less, but that doesn't mean they don't work in the absolute. It's different to say 'vaccines don't work', than to say 'COVID vaccines are not as effective'. 100
llanero24 @elgranj.com · 08/08/2026Because it became endemic and further variants are less nasty. They're less nasty because the vaccines are a shock absorber for it. Initially (when no vaccines existed) and no heard immunity, COVID DID kill a lot of people 100
llanero24 @elgranj.com · 08/08/2026Measles DID disappear on many countries. That's factual. It came back because people stopped vaccination at the required levels. Are those required levels too high? That's the only tool we humans have. 100
llanero24 @elgranj.com · 08/08/2026That's the case of the flu and COVID vaccines. However, their impact on infected people having being vaccinated is lower. That's why I mentioned prevent/suppress. The fact that you get the sickness after the vaccination doesn't meant it didn't work. People used to die from a cold, measles, etc. 100
llanero24 @elgranj.com · 08/08/2026With viruses, the vaccine treats the variant/branch, which helps to suppress the impact of the sickness in case of getting it (on any branch.variant being infected) 100
llanero24 @elgranj.com · 08/08/2026The cure happens afterwards, when the disease -hopefully- stops spreading, thus disappears. The "cure" for polio is a consequence of decades of vaccines administration, not because it cured it. If someone gets polio, it won't be treated with a vaccine, at that time it too late in the game. 210
llanero24 @elgranj.com · 08/08/2026"it can’t be given after infection and be effective" You're confusing vaccines with drugs/medicines. A vaccine mission is always preventive/suppressing. You don't get a vaccine to cure for VPH, you get it before hand. Among many factors it's cheaper/easier to prevent/reduce than to treat 100

llanero24 @elgranj.com · 23/07/2026If the link is going to be used, it still needs to go on a thread (not on the main post). Between a link and a screen capture, the screen capture is still more efficient to propagate the message than a link. Among the reasons, RTs are more impactful. 000
llanero24 @elgranj.com · 23/07/2026There are 2 reasons on why the PMs posts doesn't include links on his posts: 1) Meta platforms (Facebook & Instagram) might not -still- allow the links to the news. 2) For people 'just' scrolling, the screen capture provides the necessary information to make it legit.
