One of the stupidest and most persistent dumb things in the history of computers is the CSV file format. I just discovered that the HTML canvas APIs generate premultiplied alpha pixels in PNGs which is the graphical equivalent (actually worse, because CSV is very stupid but it’s not lossy).

He gave them the self wipe password and they used it. Now he faces five years for destroying evidence. Evidence of what? No idea they just wanted to look.

Finns are devotees of good design… usually. But Oulu is infested with idiotically designed bike racks. These things are barely usable if there’s not say 3 bikes parked in a space intended for 8, but outside the library they’re horrible. Just bend a pipe into a U shape and stick in in the ground.

My wife switched to a MacBook Air last year and got one of those cute Apple double USB chargers. I was very jealous and found this 100W Anker brick that has two USB-C and a USB-A output and tells you how much power it’s delivering. Highly recommended (so far, we’ll see if it burns out…)

Just did my first real work in a coffee shop using Viture XR glasses. These are the thing we hope Apple is going to do properly with its visionOS tech. This is a massively superior experience for using say the Meta Quest 3 (I don’t own Vision Pro but from my experience in store ditto).
