One of my personal highlights in #SecondLife is the annual Fly For Life Expo and the airshows they do. I tried to capture the magic, but of course it's better to see them in motion. Airshows are over but the expo will go on until April 29, lots to see and do there. SLURL in comment.

I am compelled to share this, because I need to heal, which I do not do lightly, or often. I wrote it slow enough to feel the truth again in the words, which I do not do lightly, or often. I put my real name on it, which I do not do lightly, or often.

~ A New Shame ~
I have stood on the cool dirt floor of a former slave shack in the deep south Staring at the rusty shackles kept still fixed to the wall, and felt shame.
I grew up nearby and share a color with the men who put them there.
I have stood listening to the hot wind in a desert canyon on the Reservation Where an indigenous people were herded and slaughtered, and knew shame. I lived there, yet I share a surname with the man who put them there.
I have stood under the neon signs of a state fairgrounds built where a camp Was once filled with the families of fellow citizens, and learned shame.
They were neighbors and shared my love for a country that put them there. I do not want to see this happen again, with my own eyes, to another people Because they choose no god or have a faith different from my own. Because they have a race, ethnicity, or country different from my own. Because their sexuality, gender or gender identity is different from my own. Or because they are different from me at all.
I write this through old, familiar tears, because I do not want
To feel, or to know, or to learn that new shame, or pay wisdom that price.
How many mistakes, how many dark places, how many memorials, How. Much. More. Shame ~ will it take to make us understand
That they are still us, that we are still them?

My #Bellisseria ranch in #SecondLife. After the recent increase of LI allowance I rebuilt my garden, and I thought I had been really lavish with completely covering the ground with all kinds of grass, flowers, trees etc. But I still have over 100 LI left 🙃So an interior makeover is up next 😆
