Just got home from watching Spider-man: Brand New Day and woah...I thoroughly enjoyed it. And glad I stayed far from speculation, reviews, BTS stuff because I was pleasantly surprised by some of the reveals and plot stuff. Still processing a lot of it though. But dang really good Spidey movie.

It always felt too text-focused a term to translate well into casual conversation. And in a romantasy book it feels kinda forced or preachy. It just takes me right out. IMO "Queer" would at least sound better from an audio perspective

Ngl I kind of got an ick from listening to a fiction audiobook where the characters casually used the phrase "L-G-B-T-Q plus" in the middle of a sentence. Perhaps it's my age but I have never heard people use that term casually. In academic or public policy contexts? Sure. Not in casual convos.

Saw the new Masters of the Universe today. Ngl I kinda liked it. Would probably have been a better watch-from-the-sofa movie. It may have been because Alison Brie was Evilyn, but Joel McHale would have been a better Skeletor. It did help that I didn't have to see Jared Leto's face.
