Congrats on the launch, I'm pumped to dive in! Your style of 'weird sci-fi' is always excellent and right up my alley. Love what you guys are doing over there.

Unbelievable... I'm so sorry man. Going to be real bittersweet when Gears is out. I'll be thinking of you and your team, and on the lookout for narrative roles...

Congrats to you and the team! I genuinely can't wait to play and inject that hit of teenage nostalgia into my veins. Might be the goriest cozy game of all time.

Really glad to hear it's going well! I've always appreciated what you guys do since way back at the legally distinct IG, when you were a talking head on a laptop. Excellent insights and discussion, mixed with genuine personality and humor. I never miss an episode. Keep up the great work man!

Love that. Really looking forward to your take on the genre!

What was the inspiration for wanting to shift to dark fantasy for this game, after developing sci-fi games for so long? And why vampires? Looks really cool and I'm excited to play!

Jealous you have your binder still! My sister gave mine away when we were kids without me knowing. Never forgiven her 😆.

There's always the high seas 🏴‍☠️ 🫣. Not ideal tbh, but it's also the only way I've been able to reliably watch all games without blackouts...

My irl friends are all gamers who spend ZERO time following internet gaming discourse. I envy them 😅. If I didn't need to be so informed for work I'd be living that happy ignorant gamer life darn it haha

I can't bring myself to do it. There is a severe lack of pucks, fights, and Brad Marchands in baseball

life comes at you fast I grew up on Frank Klepacki's Command & Conquer soundtracks. Now I'm working on a game with his music 🤯

Great read, thanks for this Mike! I work in community mgmt in games, and there are some really good bits here that are super helpful for reframing player feedback I present to the dev teams. I also love hearing all the similar nuggets of game dev wisdom you have shared on PWL over the years 🎙️

I love character action games and sci-fi games in general, so it was pretty hype for me! Lost Soul Aside, Onimusha, Hell Is Us, Tides of Annihilation, and Metal Eden all look great 🔥. And after Returnal, I know Saros is gonna be sweet.

There's no "controversy" over The Witcher 4, it's just gotten picked up in what is now a cottage industry of YouTube-based outrage content farming by people who have zero actual investment in or understanding of the things they cover multiple times a day, every day

I just announced a TUROK game at #TheGameAwards. wut... I dreamt of working on games like this when I was trying to break into the industry. Nice way to cap off a great year in my games career! Pumped for what's next.
