I didn't realize that @timhortonsofficial.bsky.social Harry Potter promotion was related to most things in their location. I'm very disappointed in them for supporting transphobia. I will not be purchasing anything from them during this promotion, which is going to make my upcoming trip a challenge.

There's nothing to share yet since it's still first draft.

Probably 80-85k. That's usually a good length.

The biggest breakthroughs often come once I understand the characters and then step back to view the story as a whole. It's like a puzzle to me.

My current MS is a first draft dumpster fire.

I usually try the idea right away but save the file as another draft incase I don't like it.

It varies since each CP is different. The biggest changes often come after I've worked with the story a bit and my brain has had time to come up with better or deeper ways to do things.

Elesha Halbert-Teskey @eleshawrites.bsky.social · 25/07/2026

It depends. A short story could be 3 before I send it to CPs for thoughts, then I'll read it another 3 or 4 times. With manuscripts, I edit a few rounds, send to some CPs, edit more, send to other CPs. I have the story memorized by the time it gets queried or submitted.

I know a story is ready when I've read over it so many times that I'd rather gouge my eyes out than read it again. #Writing #writerproblems #amwriting #amediting

Book sellers, please don't ask me to rate the book I purchased from you 7 days ago because it was probably added to my TBR pile. Check with me in a year. I may have finally gotten around to it. #reading #readerproblems #amreading

Short story finished! This is a huge milestone for me. It's the first story I've written since my life fell apart in 2019. #amwriting #writesky #writingcommunity

Post yourself from another era. Ahhh, teenage me 30 years ago. She is only a vague memory now.

I want to be finished writing this short story already so I can fix the blazing dumpster fire it is. #1stdraftdumpsterfire #writingcommunity #amwriting #1stdraftsalwayssuck

Why must many wild animals look so cute and fuzzy? It's not fair that I can't befriend them so I can pet them.

It's my ex's family. I think at some point one of their ancestors came from Ireland.

Put a note in my MS to remind myself to write in a dinner scene. Now I've changed my mind. Future me will have to deal with it when I revise. 😂 #WIP #amwriting

Some tropes in the MS I'm querying include: -Mom struggling with rebellious teen daughter. -Second chance romance. -Secret (X-men like) powers.

Each month I do an outlook reading for the month that looks at different areas of my life and the next 4 weeks. No big surprises here but the Lovers for the last week of February is interesting. 🤔 #tarot #tarotreader #blueskytarot
