Just like when that same union qualified a ballot measure in 2016 to raise the CA minimum wage (which got the legislature & Jerry Brown to pass a bill instead) it didn't just apply to their members. Nor did their PPE stockpile law, or the healthcare worker COVID bonus, or the healthcare minimum wage

I'm just going to try to break it down here as simply as possible: Prop. 40 helps any hospital or clinic that takes Medi-Cal patients, which is basically all of them. It is not limited to places where the members of that union work.

No, they don't. That's just completely untrue. No members of the union that put this on the ballot work for any entity of the insurance company. And the initiative is designed to replace the missing $100 billion in federal funds, because that is the emergency situation we need to address.

There are 83 hospitals around the state that are at-risk of closure, over 3 Mil Californians will lose coverage & costs for the rest of us are predicted to double. Prop. 40 is literally the ONLY solution that's been put forward for this, & it makes sure the costs don't fall on regular working folks

It's predicted to be $100 billion in cuts over the first 5 years, Prop. 40 is provides a 5-year runway so the state can find an ongoing solution. If you think CA has an extra $20 billion a year lying around to fund this starting in 2 months, you're being ridiculous.

Please stop listening to whoever is feeding you lies. The bill sets aside 10% of the funding for K-14 education & food assistance, so it absolutely funds schools. And Planned Parenthood gets funding through Medi-Cal, and the 90% of the funding that goes to healthcare goes to filling cuts to Medi-Cal

Maxine Waters is a huge part of the reason why the CA Dem Party officially endorsed Prop. 40 - she stood on the floor during the vote and shamed some of the fence-sitters into doing the right thing - so she should definitely be counted as a supporter. Vote Yes on 40, and No on 41 & 42!
