A friend works for Descendants Truth & Reconciliation (DTRF) and their boss will be presenting as part of an exhibition at Saint Thomas. Details in the pictures. uofstthomasmn.my.salesforce-sites.com/summit__Summ...

DTRF's new travelina exhibit, What We Inherit: Truth Repair, and a Promise to the Future. is makina its debut at the Universitv of St. Thomas next month. It tells the story of the people enslaved and sold by the Jesuits in 1838. their Descendants. and the work happening todav to reckon with that history and build something different for the future (see: my job!)
On Mondav, November 2, DTRF's CEO, Monique Trusclair Maddox, wil be part of St. Thomas' Finding Forward series for a conversation called Facing History: Memory, Reconciliation, and the Common Good. She'll be talking about the exhibit, history, reconciliation, and what it means to move forward without looking awav from the past.
A quick note if you want to see the exhibit, too: The exhibit and the evening program are in two different locations on the St. Thomas campus. What We Inherit is located in the Iversen Center for Faith (enter through the northeast entrance) and is open until 7 p.m. If vou'd like to experience the exhibit before the talk, give yourself enough time to go through it and then make vour wav over to O'Shaughnessy for the 7 p.m. program. You can also visit the exhibit on another day between October 1 and November 5.

On the plus, simplifying because i hate our kitchen probably makes for healthier cooking.

@unquixoticq.bsky.social and I heard Days N Daze (crusty folk punk) when they were supporting The Dead Rabbits (irish punk). We caught them before Rogue Taxidermy was released in 2013. The venue was an old downtown Galveston building and the walls kept shedding, so we had grit in our hair.
