Finished "Dark Shadows Return to Collinwood - 50th Anniversary Anthology". Lots of personal anecdotes on the making of the series/films, mostly from Kathryn Leigh Scott, who also narrates most of the audiobook. 📚 #darkshadows

Watched Paper Man (1971) on MGM+ with Dean Stockwell and Stephanie Powers. I was impressed by this early techno-thriller TV movie (if not by the quality of the print). Some students use a computer to commit identity theft before they start dying, one by one. 📺📽️ #filmsky

... and "James Moriarty, Consulting Criminal", a great pastiche of Sherlock Holmes featuring Moriarty as a problem solver and detective to criminals, with his exploits being told by his Watson, Colonel Moran. Loved this audiobook. Wished it had more than 3 short stories. #sherlockholmes #audiobooks

Having enjoyed The Martian and Project Hail Mary, I checked out these two audiobooks. "The Egg and Other Stories" is an anthology of very short stories with twist endings. Most were OK, but the only standout, IMO, was The Egg. #audiiobooks

Two gothic mystery audiobooks by Marilyn Ross. "Dark Shadows" was based on the show (pre-Barnabas) and some of the characters (with a couple of new characters) and features a completely different storyline. Both are heavy on atmosphere. "Ravenhurst" was unnecessarily on the long side. #darkshadows

"Merian C. Cooper's King Kong" is a novelization of the '30s film (with some extra stuff like a cut scene). A compromise between audio drama and audiobook. There was narration in addition to a full cast voicing the different characters, but no sound effects and very little music. #audiobooks

Two audio drama thrillers by James Patterson: "Trapped" and "The Commuter". They had some similarities, but I preferred The Commuter "The Big Lie", which was an audio drama which I had expected to be mystery, but was much more drama. #audiobooks

"Princess Josephine of Tardis", an alias for Jo Grant in the story The Curse of Peladon

While other Doctor Who princesses (Strella, Astra) might technically be considered Disney Princesses given Doctor Who's recent relationship with Disney, Jo was not a princess, and the title was only used to allow her to enter the Royal throne room.

I read tons of books as a kid, and probably my favorite children's books was The Henry Reed series. So much fun and tons of laughs as Henry Reed and his friend Midge get up to misadventures over their summer vacations. Like screwball comedies for kids, minus the romance.

Infocom was the master of the physical computer game, with the feelies that they included in their boxes (adding flavor to their text adventures and sometimes necessary to play) Including things like pills, a matchbook, a cardboard sundial, scratch, scratch-n-sniff cards, etc. (1/2) #gamesky
