Ah, I hear you, it's outside my experience but I can imagine that's tough. How others grieve is mysterious and like so many mysteries maybe best approached on trembling knees? Maybe that's what grief looked like to him? I don't know. I truly don't. More questions than answers sometimes

Thank you, Danny! When I was a kid there was a tv programme called something like 'why don't you just switch off your television and go and do something less boring instead'. I told my parents how much I wanted to be this kind of kid and they got enthusiastically on board!

I used instructions. We only had a short time to write but I found it a helpful format. I'm reasonably practised at not hiding and I liked how this drew me in quickly, the issue and my relationship to it drew together after only a few sentences
