I knew of trans people, but had never spoken to one. In high-school I started casually writing in my spare time. Much of it, stories of body horror and self discovery, and I kept getting comments praising the stories for helping them get through high-school as a closeted trans person. I was like:

With MJ finally fully embracing being Venom in the comics now that Paul’s finally dead, I thought I might remind y’all that I wrote a “VenoMJ” story of my own last year. One without the convoluted baggage of the current comics, and can more comfortably explores the premise of MJ becoming Venom.

HAPPY TRANS DAY OF VISIBILITY!!! Still chipping away at the first story I’ve written since I came out as trans. It’ll be a very personal one full of my usual blend of self-discovery and body-horror. So instead, have an unused sketch of Natasha that @winonawraith.bsky.social did for the story ;)

Typical morning for Natasha usually involves her resting in her bed, acclimating to the sensation of wearing her second skin, and the euphoria that comes with it. Drawn by the always delightful @winonawraith.bsky.social :)

Bad Dream: A Dreamer Story This one hit real close to home as someone who was once a deeply closeted transfem, who was terrified that coming out to my family would destroy my relationships with them… it may not have destroyed all of them. But it definitely changed them, and that change is scary.

Galaxy: The Prettiest Star Trans stories are sometimes a bit messy when injected into superhero stories. But they work best when they lean into the themes of self-discovery present in both narratives. Galaxy does exactly that, and I can’t wait for the character’s second solo-book later this year!

Oblivion (2013) It sure is one of the dystopian sci-fi films of all time. Got some neat production design and a few interesting twists in the second half. But overall it kinda drags, and a runtime under two hours might’ve made the narrative developments snappier and more compelling to watch unfold.

The Testament of Ann Lee (2025) A jaw-dropping period-piece, biopic musical. A religious experience. A vice locked around my heart, tightening uncomfortably with each passing lyric and scene. Incredible. Glad I saw it in 70mm.

ALL YOU NEED IS KILL (2025) This shit FUCKS. Has a gorgeously distinctive style that deliberately blurs the lines between hand-drawn, CG, and rotoscoped animation. Impeccable mechanical design and sound-mixing, and a climax that stirs a tablespoon of Garland’s Annihilation into the original story.

Black Sheep (1996) Legit never seen a Chris Farley film before this, and I’m certain there are better vehicles for his brand of comedy out there. But I now absolutely get what he brings to the table as a performer, and this did make for a pretty fun watch with friends.

Trans Rites: An Anthology of Genderfucked Horror I was writing queer-coded stories of self discovery that were laced with body-horror YEARS before my egg fully cracked. But there is no universal trans experience, and as an anthology collection this is a fantastic showcase of that.
