Pretty clear in Australia's media case. Australian based media were seeing their bottomline eaten by facebook, google, etc, threatening those companies and meaning less tax for Australia. This included Murdoch owned media who did a big anti-tech push. But tech stopped paying small media companies.

It's a weird technology in that you can say you are using it but the results have to be completely undetectable to be acceptable, because the assumption from so many people is the work will be subpar or wrong. Large reputational and financial penalties if detected. See Deloitte and KPMG as examples.

I cannot imagine how difficult it would be to get Queensland and NT cattle farmers to treat buffel grass as a weed. Its seen as transformative in its ability to turn "unproductive" arid and semi arid land into more consistently reliable pasture for cattle.
