Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I think it mostly comes down to, as I brought up in my review for the first game, I could see all the ways in which it instilled some of my earliest thoughts on gender, being foundational in that way, while the second game was just kind of a fun and exciting adventure and not much more than that. 000
Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2 - 9/10 It's weird. I think it's a better game in just about every way: more realized characters, more environment variety, every weapon feels better, a more intriguing story, better comedy, a better crafting system, but I just like the first more. Still great though 200
Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I couldn't fit the myriad issues and the review in one post, so have them here: (technical difficulties requiring a mod, movement options needing adjusting, tropey character writing, constant pop-ups, poorly trains the player, tedious combat, physics constantly breaking, shallow mini-games) 030
Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Sonic Frontiers - 8/10 The game has a MYRIAD of issues, but if you can tough that out, speedily running around in an open world as Sonic, blasting through little platforming sections really makes you ~feel~ like Sonic. 252
Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Horse Magnifier: Full Horse - HORSE/10 Looked like a shitpost, thought nothing of it, then I saw someone play a bit more, and was mesmerized by the sheer whimsical artistry on display, which was very refreshing in the modern landscape. 251
Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Summon Night: Swordcraft Story (replay) - 10/10 This was one of my favorite games from a long time ago, and it holds up well. It's fun seeing how much this shaped the early foundation of my thoughts on gender. 120

Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 08/09/2026part two is the indie devs being stoked that 15 people played their game while the AAA devs all get laid off 000
Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 08/09/2026what a world where indie games replicate old graphical styles and get universally praised for 15 people to buy them, and AAA devs make old games have new graphical styles and everybody has middling to negative opinions on them but they get a gajillion sales regardless because of brand recognition 110

Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty - 9/10 this game is about so many things. family. legacy. misogyny. information. politics. self. existentialism. violence. violence. it breeds, violence. but in the end, it has to be this way. 130
Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 21/08/2026Puppergeist - 10/10 it's a rhythm game where you play as a witch who goes to the Doggie Underworld to see her dog. Like, yeah, this game was made for me specifically and I loved every second of it. If you like dogs and Rhythm Heaven, you'll have a good time. 130
Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 21/08/2026PEPPERED: An Existential Platformer - 10/10 A game with a cool aesthetic about the dangers of apathy. Also it's pretty damn funny. 120
Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 19/08/2026Crow Country - 7/10 A pretty cool survival horror game. Graphical style is neat and the puzzles are pretty good. That said, the traps got annoying real quick, and the hint system was useless. It does have a whimsy to it that makes it a joy throughout, though, despite the horrors. 130

Im gonna be a couple bucks (read 50) short of paying my internet bill this month so if you'd be alright to help with that, I'd appreciate that. Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 08/08/2026Angel Essence - 10/10 The sheer freedom you're given in terms of exploration and movement feels makes this feel straight-up like a power-fantasy, but for movement instead of violence. Like five+ times, it felt like I got a movement item that breaks open the whole game! The atmosphere is also great. 120
Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 27/07/2026Metal Gear Solid (1998) - 8/10 The controls are very stiff and generally dated. Every boss had me going "wow, this sucks." That said, it's so dense with novelty that it was impossible to ever be upset at it. The way it expertly flip-flops between camp absurdity and dramatic trauma also helps. 130
Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 26/07/2026Street Fighter (1994 movie) - 7/10 Good campy fun. 100% accurate as far as I know. 130
Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 24/07/2026Denshattack! - 10/10 What if Goku was a ramen delivery girl who discovers train battle?? then you'd get a game so consistently over the top in style with one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard, that's what. 120
Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 20/07/2026booted up Dark Souls 2 for the first time in a while and seeing these two characters next to each other in my files is so funny to me. This is the true non-binary experience. 261
Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 19/07/2026Backrooms (2026) - 8/10 this is just Persona if everyone sucked at it 151
Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 12/07/2026Exit 8 - 8/10 Surprised just how much it takes from the game one to one, while also making a compelling story in that frame. The ghost of Shinzo Abe haunts us......... 1100
Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 12/07/2026yeah maybe. I definitely would've remembered this one if we saw it before. 000
Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 12/07/2026We definitely have not. There was Tammy and the T-Rex that you might be thinking of. 110
Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 12/07/2026Rex: A Dinosaur's Story - 7/10 Very cute with a lot of good cheesy moments. The child and dinosaur both deserve better. 220
Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 08/07/2026System Shock 2 Remaster - 8/10 Having played Bioshock 1 and 2 before this, it's neat to see how much of that gameplay was ripped straight from here. A little dated, but not nearly as much as I expected it to be. A little confusing to navigate near the end though. Also, bugs.................. 220
Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 06/07/2026Look Outside - 9/10 Some of the best pixel art and body horror I've ever seen, by a lot! The atmosphere and writing are phenomenal in general, with lovable characters in places you'd never expect. Can be pretty miserable before you get party members though (which require either knowledge or luck). 130

Elby @elby7.bsky.social · 07/06/2026Burden Street Station - 10/10 LOVE the art direction, collecting different "body parts" to run around as and respond to people with silly options was a lot of fun, and the writing does feel very cutting and real against very specific types of people. 130
