Lees het bericht terwijl ik op erf sta van grote Letse melkveebedrijf. Veel gierzwaluwen die ook bij de 72x carousel binnen. Ook andere vogels, met name ooievaars en zwermen kraaien. Kraaien zie je veel bij grote open mest lagonen. Melkvee staat er puik bij verder. Helaas wel zero grza

Šašlik prepared with charcoal from wood cut by the beavers next door in the river Daugava, Latvia. With good handcrafted local beer. Most of the fire wood we use is cut and left by them along the riverside.

I am following these developments with interest as I am involved in similar projects in field of bioenergy where carbon capture is central part of. Prevention of fossil energy is better. As shown in our ABC project to promote straw for use as building material jaunabuvnieciba.va.lv/agro-constru...

We standing here with our local team of Interreg ABC (Agri Building Carbon). This was a during a study trip visiting regenerative farmers and oldest straw panel producer in the Latvian region Vidzeme.
As well a demonstration was given how a straw panel is produced here and a panel is shown here. The straw is fixed in a wooden frame. The thickness is 40 cm and the density probably some 120 kg of straw in 1 m3.

Happy to announce we started the ABC ("Agri Building Carbon") Interreg project in Riga, Latvia as of today. With experienced local hemp and straw builders we set up a panel discussion. With New Building School of Vidzemes University, NGO's, farmers and builders.

Nog voor de afvaart was er nog een goede ontvangst en afscheidsborrel in de haven van Riga eind augustus ism de Nederlandse ambassade. Locatie is Riga Cruiseterminal schuin tegenover het Letse presidentiele kasteel.

Visited the windy wood cay at small northern Latvian port of Salacgriva. Also, some sod peat, milled peat, and wood fuel wait for their turn to be exported. Mostly to Sweden, Denmark, or North see country.

Oats biologically grown are stronger than non biologically grown. Interesting observation in the aftermath of the heavy storm in Latvian fields today. The soil is fed with lots of compost over the previous years. Grow a bit slower but stronger and more mature.

The oats behind knacked down during last night's storm. The biologically grown on richly composted soil won the gold metal and continues growing unharmed.

As we have nice weather in Latvia, I try to use the bicycle at the maximum. Commute to Riga from home is 35 km and can be windy along the Daugava. So first, the train will break the headwind. And in the evening back home, like yesterday.

Tropical weather in North Europe. Nature bursts in these warm and moisture conditions. The wearher this year is quite normal over the last 8 months unless last year.

Bij ons thuis buiten de heg. Had al gemaaid moeten zijn van de gemeente. Patrijzen familie heeft ongeveer 12 Kids hier, dus laat de boete maar weer komen. #Ikšķilē #Latvia

Sunday's mtb ride along the Gauja around Cēsis, Latvia. Saw the effects of a Blitzstorm of a few days ago, luckily very locally. It's good swimming here too. Few people, many trees, wild meadows and birds.
