Our scale development work generated two viable measures—one was a 12-item measure of the most overtly forceful strategies and one of socially coercive strategies (4 items; see Supplemental Materials). The mean number of forceful strategies used across all men was 1.29 (SD = 2.65; range 0–12). Of particular importance, the modal number of forceful strategies used was zero, with 62.6% of the men reporting none. However, another 15.7% of the participants reported using one these forceful strategies; all others (21.7%) reported using at least two or more forceful strategies. Of the 37.4% of the sample who reported at least one especially forceful strategy, the mean was 3.45 (SD = 3.37). Rates of coercive strategies were higher with the mean amongst all men being 1.61 (SD = 1.47); 34.0% of the sample reported not using any of the four coercive strategies assessed. Of those who reported at least one, the mean was 2.44 (SD = 1.11) of the four strategies assessed using this subscale.

Jag kommer inte leta upp Malms bok för att kolla att han verkligen skrev så. Men om det stämmer: Cwejman skriver att två tvärvetenskapliga akademiker – som inte forskar inom klimat – hade fel, och tar stöd i det för att förkasta den mycket mer strikta klimatforskning som finns. Fult + oärligt.

Så även om Ehrlich pekade på något viktigt var hans analys förenklad. Gäller något liknande för några av de mörkaste förutsägelserna om klimatet? 2007 utkom boken av Andreas Malm, “Det är vår bestämda uppfattning att om ingenting görs nu kommer det vara för sent”.

I den hävdas exempelvis att Arktis is skulle vara helt borta till 2034 och att Himalayas is skulle vara borta till 2035. Om vi inte lyckas med nollutsläpp till 2025 är det för sent. Att klimatet blir varmare som en konsekvens av människans industriella avtryck råder ingen tvekan om. Detsamma gäller Ehrlichs tes om att ständig befolkningstillväxt frestar på jordens resurser.

The Chips act was pretty cool. And the bipartisan infrastructure bill, although it focused too much on car infra for my taste. Also, it's the only presidency with job growth each and every month. As for worker's rights, there is too much to mention, but the picture includes some of it.

Signed the Butch Lewis Act as part of the American Rescue Plan, saving the pensions of two million hard-working union workers and retirees. Already, more than 120,000 retirees received an average of $13,600 each in earned benefits that were protected or restored.

You can't just go and install solar on other people's roofs, China's nail houses are proof of home owner's rights. What you can do is give incentives to install solar, which many countries do (but should do a lot more!). But that wouldn't create as much energy as quickly as this 16GW project.

How come low educated white folks went from 'never voting' to 'vote for Trump'? The answer is telling for the populist shift in other countries too.

It wasn't Obama - they weren't motived to vote against him directly. They were motivated by WWE style speeches and rhetoric.

This is the prime audience of people watching NASCAR and WWE. They aren't educated, and they don't understand how the government works. They were never motivated before because the politicians were talking about stuff they couldn't understand. Foreign policy? Trade deficits? They don't even know what that is.

But when the goofy man comes on and starts saying "I'm the best there ever was. That bitch is stupid. Lock her up. I'm gonna do what needs to be done to save this country no matter what it is!" - it resonates with their simple mindset.

They were motivated to vote for a moron because it was the first politician they genuinely understood.

These were Kirk's last words. In his case he was implying that if you take out gang violence, then a higher percentage of trans people are commiting mass shootings compared to the percentage if gang violence were included.

In this case, Conor flipped it on Lauren Chen beautifully, because if you remove gang related mass shootings, then the remainder are overwhelmingly committed by white men. Add the edginess of using Kirk's last words against a MAGAT, and you have a certified banger.
