Apparently, language learning is very popular with bots in Brazil this week!
ALT text: A bar chart titled "Top 10 countries" shows the ten countries that sent the most requests to a system. The largest portion of traffic, represented by a long blue bar, comes from Brazil, significantly outpacing all other countries. The United States follows with a much smaller bar. Other countries in the chart include Turkey, Argentina, Iraq, Russia, Morocco, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Mexico, each with minimal request counts in comparison. A dropdown menu labeled "Filter displayed data" is present above the chart, and a link to "View in CloudWatch" is displayed for further analysis.

Reminds me of a classic 90s DOOM hack, which linked enemies to Unix processes, and allowed you to 'kill -9' them using DOOM weapons: www.cs.unm.edu/~dlchao/flak...
Screenshot of XDoom showing the usual game UI (ammo, health, weapon in hand, etc) and a number of enemies. Each enemy has a red process ID displayed over them.

When you catch the bot account during the debugging phase.
Cropped screenshot of a Bluesky post with "Response to a post" in French on top, and the text "This is an automated comment for testing purposes."

Yes, I suspect that special prosecutors under Garland's DOJ were engaged in politically motivated prosecutions, based on the analysis of former US Attorney General Eric Holder and similar statements. The original plea deal was OK. Political pressure was applied to block the plea deal.

Here’s the reality.

No USAtty would have charged this case given the underlying facts. After a 5 year investigation the facts as discovered only made that clear.

Had his name been Joe Smith the resolution would have been - fundamentally and more fairly - a declination.

Pardon warranted.

Ask yourself a vastly more important question. Do you really think Kash Patel is qualified to lead the world’s preeminent law enforcement investigative organization? Obvious answer: hell no.

This is a cool use of Bluesky's tag system. It groups individual and PAC donations by employer, and shows where politicians get their contributions. You can subscribe! For example, AOC is funded by a lot of individual donors, but also Google employees? Other politicians often look more dubious.

I also just discovered that @amalelmohtar.com and @maxgladstone.bsky.social are here! Their book "This is How You Lose the Time War" is (deep breath) a lyrical post-human queer epistolary enemies-to-lovers romance about time agents. If that sounds like your sort of thing, trust me, it's brilliant.
A book cover titled "This is How You Lose the Time War" by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone.

The cover is illustrated with a right-side-up red cardinal and an upside-down blue jay, facing in opposite directions with their feet touching. The birds are visually distorted as if the images had been sliced into strips and offset slightly.
