In the middle of Ep 2 and I don't know why but Arkane gives me similar vibes to the 2000s Disney Treasure Planet movie. I don't even remember the movie for real, but that vibe is unmistakable. Also this is the most beautiful fictional woman I have ever seen.

This game, to my extreme delight and surprise, is so much more than another robo-shooter. In fact, it is a rare sci-fi RPG, one with a clear love and reverence for its world and characters. When this game was just a basic shooter with engaging RPG progression, I liked it fine. When its characters proved to be deeper than I suspected and its narrative more substantial than I assumed, I liked it even more. But once I saw the ending, its implications for the lore of the series, and how it's accomplished and enriched by the mechanics of the game, I knew I loved it. I might have to add this to my personal top 100 list because I am blindsided by how much I love this game. If not for the massive budgets of modern AAA games setting an impossible standard for polish, this game would be a breakout hit. But instead, ill settle for it being an excellent version of a game out of time. If it was 2009 right now, this would absolutely be my game of the year.

New First Foray is up! I'm playing Yakuza: Dead Souls, the obscure zombie based Yakuza spin off that cost way too much physically, but is only $20 digitally. It took a WHILE to actually get to gameplay, but I enjoyed how strange it was. Maybe it'll be the first Yakuza I beat? Live on the channel!
