Headline on CNBC: Homeowners are sitting on record equity - and not using it. They want you to mortgage your house at 7.5% interest rates and invest in the stock market?? Maybe in crypto or do some sports betting? Brilliant!

Trump wants his name on everything. You get your name on stuff one of two ways: You do great, difficult, and historic things, and then die. You endow them with your great wealth.

Ten year treasury yield just passed 5 1/4%. Is it because they are competing with A.I. for $$? Is it that our debt is getting out of control? Is it that we have pissed the whole world off with our trade policies and wars and they are not buying our debt? All of the above!

Trump and Netanyahu have taught us how quickly and easily we can squander decades of good will. Now we get to learn how slow and painful it is to rebuild the world’s trust.

I guess the Iran war is over. Iran will open the Strait if we leave. We will leave if they agree to let Jared built a fabulous resort and give him a lot of $$. Maybe not. But we got the price of oil down to $93/barrel, and the stock market is up. Good enough.

Trump is yelling at Bessent to get bond yields down. Treasury announced it will buy back $6 billion in long term debt tomorrow. That is out of the $22 billion we will be selling. Plus the $72 billion and $175 billion in short term bonds we are selling today and tomorrow. Umm. 🤔

If an immigrant comes to our country and lives and works and pays taxes and has a family, and after 10 or 20 or 30 years is still considered illegal, it is our system that is illegal, not the immigrant. Do not let the argument “Well, they are here illegally” end our protests.

www.cnbc.com/2026/08/24/b... The question we should be asking here is, WHY? It is the “world’s greatest economy”, right? Why are we desperately throwing money at the bond market to keep rates low? And is adding a trillion dollars helping? It is a short term solution to a long term problem.

Bessent is sounding a little desperate here. He really wants to get rates down. But adding to the national debt by buying our own debt will just make it worse. You actually need to either raise taxes or grow the economy- and not just the stock market.
