Namoi Shaanan, who was killed by the last Iranian missile hit, just one hour before the ceasefire. In the picture Naomi is holding a sign calling for the return of the hostagesm as she did every day since October 7th. Naomi was a vocal peace activisit and will be greatly missed.

At a time when data repositories are being shut and defunded, an engaging and fascinating symposium about data, held at #LDEO for our 75th anniversary. So thankful for my thoughtful community and colleagues.

#standupforscience in NYC. felt particularly urgent after hearing about the funding cuts targeted of #ColumbiaUniversity. Aldo, I’m really pissed that the regime is saying this is somehow for me, as a Jew. Well, it is not. Keep hands off science funding.

So happy to be back in Hawaii! Since becoming a volcanologist, I visited in 2009, 2012, 2015, and 2018, but my 2021 visit got jumbled by a pandemic and a baby. Hopefully back on track now!
