Starting with 'return to the ocean'! This is my baby, I worked really hard on it and its the one I'm most proud of! Shigeo hasn't seen Reigen in 33 years. And then one day he shows up at Shigeo's doorstep...looking exactly as he had the day that Mob confessed to Tsubomi.

Aaaand the finale notes. I was so happy when I came up with this sequence. It took a long time for it to pop into my head but it's perfect, my favorite part of the fic

More notes. I'm getting psychic damage from my past self, "maybe he just needs more time" woulda been BRUTAL LMFAO

I think i strayed a bit from this mood with the final product

+ the half written final blowout. I think I kinda had the feeling of wanting to keep things vague so the reader could imprint more (it's why Reigen can't explain his own tragic back story)

Similarly there where more flashbacks with mob as a college student, towards the very end. Looking back, I probably should have committed to this. I think their fallout feels empty as is, but it was never supposed to be the main plot point anyway. At least not in that sense.
