Hybrid Animal Artober Day 6: Coral Shark A hybrid animal based on Episodes 126 and 169 of the Just the Zoo of Us Podcast, which feature Carnation Corals and Tiger Sharks. #artober #animalartober #coral #shark @justthezooofus.bsky.social
Pencil drawing of a hybrid between a tiger shark and carnation corals. The creature is mainly a tiger shark with carnation corals growing in spots across its back, over its brow, and from the base of its fins.
Coloring has been digitally painted and is heavily inspired by the referenced animals with the body of the shark being gray and having a white belly. However, the edging of the tail and fins and the tiger stripe patterns are orange like the body of the corals growing from the shark. The corals are also spotted with bright pink, just like carnation corals.
The drawing is on top of a pale yellow halftone patterned circle that was digitally added to the drawing.

October is here, which means it's time to share the tenth of my Birthday Bird series! It features a swan, ivy, marigolds, and cosmos, which are popular birth month bird, tree (celtic tree tradition), and flowers for the month of September.
Artwork is mainly completed in colored pencils.
For the month of October, I am featuring a swan (a traditional birth month bird for the month) who is holding an orange marigold flower in its beak (one of the birth month flowers).

The swan rises in the upper middle of the frame to the left, with its wings spread wide to make a silhouette in a shallow S-like curve. There is an orange marigold in the beak of the swan.
The background consists of an evening sky in an ombre of blue, purple, to red-orange that is behind the slated branches of deep green ivy (the traditional birth month tree).
The rectangular drawing is framed with a border of gold leaf, with some decorative vine-like detailing around each corner. The corners feature the selected birth month flowers of the month. Each top corner featuring a mirrored trio of cosmos (in orange, yellow-orange, and yellow) that are also incorporated into the gold border framing around the flowers and curving into the borders. Each bottom corner features a trio of marigolds (in varieties of yellow, yellow-orange, and a red orange with yellow edges petals)
Behind the whole artwork, the background color is a yellow-orange.

There is a purple aster in the beak of the kingfisher, along with a trio of asters in each top corner of the artwork border. The trio of asters are shades of pink and purple.
Another common birth month flower for September is the morning glory, which are growing up on the lower sides of the trellis-like design of the artwork border, along with a single bloom centered at the top. The morning glories on the bottom right are blue, while the ones on the bottom left are purple.
The background consists of an evening sky in an ombre of blue, purple, to red-orange that is behind the tree-like grape vines.

Miscria, Dragon of Mischief. An absolutely fantastic commission I finished in January. Miscria's a punk rock princess and extreme chaotic good. I read some of the creator’s short stories about Miscria, which inspired a lot of the elements of her background to fit with the lore of the character.
The figure in the center of the art is a female character leaping in the air. Her long legs are hooved and she has a tail curled close near her angled right leg. Her tail goes from a rat-like pale lavender pink near her body to white frond-like shapes of hair at the end. The hair on her head is also a silvery white with curling strands that frame her face while a long braid swings out to the side and is decorated with red stones between the braiding. She also has two curling, ram-like horns on the top of her head that curve backward on her head. Her skin is a pale lavender color, with shades of pink in her more translucent, large, bat-like wings that are spread and flared out from her body. Her eyes are a glowing red and she looks to the viewer’s right as she speaks/sings into a microphone held loosely in her left hand.

Her body is bent so she has a lot of angles in her pose, her left leg raised and bent, while the right is straight, but angled under her. Her right arm and hand are raised and bent as she gestures with her speech. The microphone she holds has a long cord that snakes in long curves behind her silhouette.

The outfit she wears includes a black leather battle vest with straps over her upper arm and a ruffled inner edging. The vest is worn over a cut Misfits band t-shirt and plaid patched, worn and frayed, blue jean shorts. She has layered, holed, fish net arm arm and leg sleeves that finish the major elements of her look.
She also wears a lot of accessories.

More descriptions of the full piece are available on my Patreon version.

Artwork is mainly completed in colored pencils. The picture has a flying canary, flying with a near top body view and wings spread almost in an S shape over and below its head. The lower sides of the image are also framed with blooming tulips in a few pink varieties. The leftside having a tulip that is a darker pink with touches of orange between the pink and white edges. The left has pale pink tulips.
The background sky is an ombre of pink to purple to blue for a dawn sky and the gold paint of the border has been digitally enhanced for some gold highlight coloration for the picture.

This common symbol of peace felt especially meaningful paired with the month's flower of honeysuckle. Honeysuckle has several meanings, including hope, togetherness, and resilience against negativity. Things that really match with the moment for myself, family, friends, and people I care about.

💛 Artists! Quote your yellow art! 💛 Throwback with these two to a very long Mermaid Court banner illustration that is on the back burner but not forgotten!
A pufferfish mermaid with strawberry blond hair in wavy curls, with her tail pulled high and out of frame, looks over her shoulder with a concerned expression. She wears a lace trimmed, white bonnet on her head. Her skin has freckles on her face and larger brown spots on her pale skinned arms and back that transition into the patterns on her yellow pufferfish tail.

Her right hand is raised from the silver tray she holds in her left hand. From the tray are falling treats that are similar to slices of mini swiss rolls with a red jam filling.

A gauzy magenta scarf is drifting above her in the water, snagged onto one of her pufferfish spines.

As well, the seaweed garland behind her also seems like it might have snagged onto her.A leafy sea dragon mermaid with flowing brown to green ombre hair. Her hair has influence of art nouveau in the design of curving flow and curls. The mermaid's ears are long and elf-like with three silver ring earrings piercing them. Her face is profile and looking off frame.
Her skin continues the yellow color of her seahorse body, with the magenta outlined white stripes on her body continuing on her shoulders and upper arms. Her face has some magenta patterning over her cheeks and the edges of her ears and temples. The leafy appendages on her seahorse body and tail fade from yellow to green with purple spots on the "leaves". Her large lower branching appendage is decorated with a silver necklace-like chain with silver disks flowing around in the water. She wears a fringed, light purple bikini top also decorated on the bottom with silver disks.

Her body flows as though coming from a spin in a dance, her arms raised with one going out of frame and the other holding onto a rod connecting to a gauzy magenta scarf that is twinning around the tail of a pufferfish mermaid (who is out of frame).

Behind her, you can see a seaweed garland hanging around her shoulder height. You can also see the tail of a whale in the background.
