This is so tragic. How often do researchers have to repeat the same thing? YOU CANNOT BEAT THE POPULIST-/FAR-RIGHT BY ADOPTING THEIR NARRATIVES. Tons of studies show that doing so only helps "the original". Instead of scapegoating migrants (often against evidence), fix people's material problems!

Genuinely confused why everyone (i.e. some people in Westminster bubble) is aghast at the idea of a freeze to PIP rates but fairly chill at the idea of preventing c600,000 people being entitled to PIP in the first place, which will save far more money (i.e. be a larger cut to household incomes).

ARD and ZDF predictions are drawing closer. Now within 0.1% for all the parties We can now pretty solidly that FDP is OUT of the Bundestag (below 5% hurdle) But BSW it’s incredibly close. There are going to be a few thousand, perhaps as low as a few hundred votes in it - if they get to 5% or not

Die Sprache ist ja gerne von "diesen jungen Leuten". Ein kurzer 🧵 zum Wahlverhalten nach Altersgruppen und meine Einschätzung zur Veränderung seit 2021. Wieder einmal zeigt sich, dass junge Menschen zwar volatiler wählen als andere Altersgruppen, vor allem aber eine sehr heterogene Gruppe sind!

Auf einmal sind "die" jungen Menschen nach der #BTW25 links (oder rechts) – doch so einfach ist es nicht. Sie sind heterogen, wie auch unsere Studie zeigt. Entscheidend für die Politik ist eine zielgruppengerechte Ansprache dort, wo sich die Menschen (online) aufhalten. Siehe #Linke #Reichinnek

Wieder einmal zeigt sich: "die #Jugend" wählt nicht rechts. Vielmehr sind junge Wähler:innen eine sehr #heterogene Gruppe. Bei den 18-24-Jährigen ist die #Linke mit 25% stärkste Kraft. Am besten schneidet die #AfD bei den 35-44-Jährigen (25%) ab, am schlechtesten (10%) bei den über 70-Jährigen.

Die aktuellen geopolitischen Veränderungen werden im deutschen Wahlkampf kaum beachtet. Trotz breiter Unterstützung für Reformen (94%) zögert die Politik, sich den Herausforderungen zu stellen. Deutschland braucht dringend klare Führung und einen ehrlichen Dialog, um wettbewerbsfähig zu bleiben.

Ich bin es leid, dass Politiker junge Generationen als Grund für ihre #Wahl25 Positionen vorschieben. Denn: "die jungen Leute" denken nicht so wie die #FDP es uns vormacht. Nur 17% lehnen Staatsschulden immer ab. Die Mehrheit junger Leute befürwortet Schulden für Zukunftsinvestitionen zur #BTWahl25

Eine Mehrheit in allen Altersgruppen befürworten Schulden, wenn es darum geht Zukunftsinvestitionen zu finanzieren („um den Kindern keinen kaputten Planeten zu hinterlassen“). Weniger als 20 Prozent innerhalb jeder Altersgruppe lehnen schuldenfinanzierte Investitionen komplett ab.

Im Wahlkampf kann keine Partei mit einem alleinigen Fokus auf einen Schuldenstopp punkten. Unsere aktuelle Studie zeigt, dass die Ablehnung weiterer Schulden unter Inkaufnahme ausbleibender Investitionen bei den Unterstützer*innen aller Parteien + in allen Altersgruppen eine Minderheitenmeinung ist.

Zukunftsinvestitionen sind entscheidend! Unsere aktuelle Studie zeigt: Zwei Drittel der Befragten (66 %) unterstützen die Aussage, dass der deutsche Staat keine neuen Schulden aufnehmen sollte. Gleichzeitig sind ~69 % der Meinung, dass es sinnvoll ist, Schulden für Zukunftsinvestitionen aufzunehmen.
