Whoo boy! One of my professors Back In The Day would’ve been sadistic enough to use this as a theoretical exam question (a bonus question, to be sure): create a molecule where a deuterated analog could be detected by HPLC…

There is ONLY ONE TRUE etrog packing material, and society’s downfall can be traced to our having strayed from the ways of our ancestors:

I know that misspelling is kinda your thing, but you gotta be more careful here. That’s a soffritto (or mirepoix); sofrito (at least in these parts) better have some tomatoes in it…

Has any fandom owed as much to a single newcomer as the Rush fandom does to Anika? How wonderful to see Geddy and Alex tearing it up with that level of energy and joy. Nothing short of inspiring…

New York State had a Republican Senator for 18 years because of potholes. I’m a staunch Mamdani skeptic turned moderate Mamdani skeptic, but I remain shocked that he’s apparently the first mayor in my living memory that thinks it’s a good idea to openly celebrate public service and public workers…

I go back to R’ Grossman ZT”L, who I think was the first widely-distributed complete recorded daf shiur. Rav Elefant’s ability to smoothly bring in outside sources while maintaining a moderate pace and still finishing in 45 minutes is just astonishing…

And some who swear *at* it, but that comes with the territory. I prefer Rabbi Elefant’s shiur, but there’s no denying the movement that Rabbi Stefansky has created…

I don’t quite go that far back (got into the madness through FRED and the Gas House Gang), but the contest is absolutely staggering at this point. How does anyone in the semifinals, let alone the finals, have to rely on a day job?
