The greatest threat to education is optimism. We get so excited about new initiatives that we miss the warning signs. I've done this myself: launched something, ignored early feedback about busy schedules, then had to redesign twice. AI, instructional coaching, Cog Sci… same pattern repeating.

Without proper thought, the data collected that drives future AI and LLMs can be rooted in unexplored biases. As we build the AI systems for humanity how do we know that it truly reflects the human experience?

The same goes for how we view entire groups. Research (for example, classic psychological studies) has been found to focus too narrowly on a select group to make broader hypotheses based on big data. These biases are now, only years later being addressed. With AI there’s a greater risk.
