Abuse of women has long been the canary in the coal mine—a bright red waving flag, warning of broader offenses yet to come. Ignoring it has always come with a cost open.substack.com/pub/jessica/...

What stood out in Platner's interview with @chrislhayes.bsky.social is the way he uses progressive language about community and solidarity and accountability and openness to soften his image. As if to say, 'could a man this aware *really* be capable of doing such horrible things?'

I really hope the most recent Platner news means I can stop watching leftists in my feed go to bat for a nazi.

I've never met someone who was proud of the thing they claim to have PTSD about. I also find it difficult to give the benefit of the doubt to someone who's been actively lying about the history of their nazi tattoo and working class background.

Finally got to use the 2 line for its intended purpose today- taking the dog to the Marymoor off-leash park.

I'm specifically thinking of the ones along I-90 that are now part of the Palouse to Cascades trail. I get sad knowing that we used to have a ski train up to Snoqualmie 🥲 But yeah, the freight relationship is incredibly frustrating

And yet, it had train tunnels 100 years ago. We just chose to prioritize highways and convert the rail system into bike infrastructure. As a cyclist, I'd much prefer we still had rail access through the mountains.

Just got downvoted in the r/Seattle post for suggesting that people should have a DD if they absolutely have to drive somewhere to drink 🫡

Fun fact: my grandpa was both an observant Jew and the ruling judge in a case that tried to challenge the blue laws (Mack Paramus v Paramus). I asked him about the ruling once because I always assumed it was church-related, and he said that Paramus just needed a break from traffic once a week.

The sheriff said the woman self-administered the abortion and her family were concerned for her safety, so authorities searched through Flock cameras. Experts are still concerned that a cop in a state...

Judging by peak usage on the Burke, we could also use a second BGT

That's how I feel about teenagers, but I still find a way to accept that we both need to exist in public spaces together sometimes.

1) dogs have always been allowed on Link in carriers. This is about allowing dogs who don't fit in carriers 2) non-drivers own dogs and need to get them around. This isn't like bringing a dog to a restaurant

FYI, you can think the response to Bernie's photo is ridiculous and also not say something antisemitic!

Cargo bikes are a beautiful invention. Much more enjoyable for kids than sitting in a car too!

The rescue that I got my dog from will let you take an adoptable dog out just for a day or to a brewery or for a hike, so it's basically that!

From Reddit:
Image shows a driver in a car with the ghost of Hitler in the passenger seat. The overlaid text reads, "When you ride Tesla, you ride with Hitler! Join Public Transportation TODAY!"

Congestion pricing is a tool for places with reliable and extensive public transit systems. If someone lives far from a dense area and needs to drive there, it's more likely they'll drive to a transit station since transit is much cheaper than parking fees ($25/day min) in cities.

The poorest commuters use public transit. Car ownership alone is expensive.
