Just emailed @1password.bsky.social about this, I'm a longtime user and advocate, but this is unacceptable.

My friend Astra is currently trying to make ends meet with effectively no income, trying to survive until May when she becomes eligible for Centrelink. Anything you can spare would be appreciated. #MutualAid ko-fi.com/theastralgoth

A friend of mine could really use some support with food expenses. We're aiming for consistent donations to help her create a budget, but if a one-time contribution works better for you, that’s absolutely fine too! You can find all the details in the spreadsheet 🙂 docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

Rep Zephyr’s speech flips 13 GOPs, trans bills die in Montana Trans people have been scapegoated so effectively (among older people) that we're flooded with models of how to hate. But when people hear the love behind why we stand up for each other, we win. Bravo, @zoandbehold.bsky.social!

My ancient gaming pc which is more or less a server these days seems to only negotiate 10/10 Ethernet now, so that's fun. Thankfully my doombox of cables/adapters had a USB Ethernet adapter. Not sure I'd ever used it before, but I knew it would become nottage as soon as I threw it out.

Nottage (n.)

Nottage is the collective name for things which you find a use for immediately after you've thrown them away. For instance, your greenhouse has been cluttered up for years with a huge piece of cardboard and great fronds of gardening string. You at last decide to clear all this stuff out, and you burn it. Within twenty-four hours you will urgently need to wrap a large parcel, and suddenly remember that luckily in your greenhouse there is some cardb...

Sidenote: if you white and trans, ESPECIALLY transfemme, you should be sharing the quoted thread AND internalizing it. You cannot pass this off to others. No, you probably ain’t doing enough. Most of y’all ain’t even White Critical yet. You need to do fucking better.

The 8 White Identities
by Barnor Hesse
White
Supremacist
Clearly marked white society that preserves, names, and values white superiority

White
Voyeurism
Wouldn't challenge a white supremacist; desires non-whiteness because it's interesting, pleasurable; seeks to control the consumption and appropriation of non-whiteness; fascination with culture (ex: consuming
Black culture without the burden of Blackness)

White
Privilege
May critique supremacy, but a deep investment in questions of fairess/equality under the normalization of whiteness and the white rule; sworn goal of "diversity"
口
White
Benefit
Sympathetic to a set of issues but only privately; won't speak/act in solidarity publicly because benefitting through whiteness in public (some POC are in this category as well
口
White
Confessional
Some exposure of whiteness takes place, but as a way of being accountable to POC after; seek validation from POC

White Critical
Take on board critiques of whiteness and invest in exposing/markin

I guess I know people who've drunk almost solely Pepsi Max for years and are still alive, so that checks out.

The bottle says it's only 12% of my recommended daily sodium, and it seems like I'm averaging 3 bottles a day, so it should be okay if I'm not eating super salty foods for every meal I guess.

Effy Elden ~ ineffyble @effy.space · 21/11/2023

So I ordered 24 bottles of Gatorade to help me get through COVID. It's sugar free so not massively unhealthy in that respect, but I assume consuming this quantity over a few days isn't actually very good for me. Is it possible to overdose on electrolytes? Am I going to die from too much salt?

Today I learned that GCP defaults to allowing *TLS 1.0* on load balancers. If you don't provide an SSL Policy in your API call, if you miss a line in your Terrraform, the default behaviour is to accept *TLS 1.0*, which has been around since 1999 and widely seen as insecure for over a decade 🤯
