I have got ones before claiming to be publicity companies or whatever, but never one from a publisher (or someone pretending to be one).

000

Also looks like the actual publisher specializes in literary fiction not tropey genre fantasy haha. I guess they were hoping I'd be so starstruck that I wouldn't think too hard about it.

120

yeah I'm 99.9% sure this is someone impersonating a legit publisher, I emailed the real ones to give them a heads up, hopefully they post a warning on their social media

020

I think you might be right... the email I got is from a gmail account and the publisher in question appears to use their own domain.

I just got an email from what appears to be a legit indie publisher but the email is clearly AI and they obviously have not actually read my book... I'm wondering if its actually from the publisher in question or just someone pretending to be.

oh hang on one minute I gotta take this call (slides open window and listens to the pouring rain)

“Be patient with me,” said Orsina. “Please. I’ve been alone for such a long time.” Elyne took her hand again. “I know,” she said. “I have too.” #highlyrecommended #fantasy #romance @effiecalvin.bsky.social f.mtr.cool/ckznt5lxer

My mom had to go a different vet in the meantime (because the practice literally couldn't make appointments anymore due to losing all their staff) and they cancelled her prescription medication food shipments in retaliation.

Effie Calvin @effiecalvin.bsky.social · 30/08/2026

Our incredible family vet that we've been going to since I was a little kid was purchased by one of these big companies just recently. All of the long time veterinarians walked out. According to rumors they're looking to start their own practice. I really hope they're successful.

I put him back outside among some flowers, I let him keep the basil leaf because he was reluctant to leave it.

010

I found him on my blanket (which is also green) so I am very very glad I did not accidentally smush him. I have absolutely no idea how he got in here.

050

No walking video yet bc he appears to have passed out after eating his own body weight in basil so I am letting him rest.

150

I need to get video of him walking, its so cute, it's like a little cartoon worm, he lifts his whole body into an arch and inches forward.

150

A little green inchworm appeared in my room so I put him on a basil leaf intending to carry him outside and now he's feasting upon it.

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who has been reposting my book stuff! I appreciate you so much because I am so bad at social media!

Daughter of the Sun is the second book in the Tales of Inthya series, though it can be read as a standalone.

Orsina of Melidrie is a paladin on a quest. Aelia is a lesser chaos goddess with virtually no worshippers. When Orsina mistakes Aelia for a victim in need of rescue, the two set off on a journey across southern Vesolda and slowly begin to fall in love.

Orsina has no idea who or what Aelia truly is, and Aelia has no intention of telling her, but the choice may not be hers in the end...

why must heroes go outside and do difficult things or get real smart and solve problems. what if heroes were expected to eat a whole bag of chips in one go. what if that was heroics.

The Queen of Ieflaria: Princess Esofi of Rhodia is engaged to marry Prince Albion of Ieflaria. But when she arrives in his country for the wedding, she find out that he's suffering from a bad case of being dead. Now she must marry his irresponsible sister, Princess Adale. This is less of an issue than you'd think because everyone in this setting is super gay, but there are still angry dragons to deal with.

Daughter of the Sun: Orsina of Melidrie is a paladin. She is big on killing evil things with her sword but not so big on critical thinking. Aelia is a minor chaos goddess without any followers. When Orsina mistakes Aelia for a young woman escaping an abusive family, she offers to escort her to safety and Aelia is like, "Um okay?" Along the way they have adventures and accidentally kiss and then kiss on purpose.

1178

As the two grow closer, Aelia wrestles with her own desire to tell Orsina the truth about who she is, and her fear that Orsina will turn on her if she does.

010

Intending to use Orsina for protection, Aelia pretends to be an ordinary woman fleeing an abusive family as she hunts down the magical relic that will free her.

Aelia is the Goddess of Caprice. The Order of the Sun has classified her as a chaos goddess, meaning that her worship has been outlawed. During a run-in with Orsina, she is trapped in a mortal body.

Orsina of Melidrie is a paladin of the Order of the Sun, sworn to drive out corruption and chaos wherever she finds it. She has been in search of a great evil she is supposedly destined to destroy, but after two years of fighting monsters and demons and evil gods, she is no closer to her goal.
