The South West can be at the heart of the clean energy revolution. Clean, home-grown power would mean skilled jobs and an industry our future generations could build a life around. That is the future I want for us, and I will keep fighting to bring those jobs and that investment here.

I have serious concerns about what a Burnham premiership might mean for the future of the South West. Much of Blair's advice isn't worth dwelling on, but Burnham would do well to listen to Blair's tips to future PMs on popularity. #Devon #SouthWest

Two years ago I said water bosses should lose bonuses when their firms breach their licences. Now, some appear to be receiving similar rewards as “pay rises”. Ofwat should close the loophole and claw the money back. 👉 www.dailymail.com/news/article...

Polluting water firms defy ban on bosses' bonuses
Pennon's chief executive saw her annual bonus of £270,000 reinstated after it was blocked when its South West Water unit poisoned more than 500 customers with parasite-infected tap water.

After ten years of the Conservatives’ Brexit experiment, the British public have had enough. Nigel Farage pocketed a £5 million ‘reward’ for the damage he’s caused, while the rest of us are paying for it dearly. It’s time to end the chaos and fix our broken relationship with Europe.

In a debate secured by a Lib Dem MP on "community hospitals", the Minister could barely bring herself to use the term. "Neighbourhood health hubs" should fit our communities, not be an Orwellian way of removing health facilities from rural and coastal towns and concentrating services in cities.

A record fine? When water companies are guilty of illegal spills, they are fined. These fines - which are paid back into restoration of the environment - risk becoming a cost of doing business. They need to be a deterrent.
