Important public land ownership moment

Almost nothing of the original East Bay shoreline remained by 1920. Ironically, the city of Oakland won back control of its waterfront because the courts set the boundary of Southern Pacific Railroad's property at the 1852 low tide line. The new shoreline was in an entirely different location since the area had been completely transformed by dredging and fill. The shoreline, in some cases, was hundreds of yards beyond the original waterfront acquired by the railroad.

Bicaramelism in state constitutions reminds me of Jedi robes. Obi-Wan was undercover in Tatooine, the Senate was created in a Great Compromise. Somehow folks forgot this and put every jedi in Tatooine robes and gave most statehouses a Senate.
