Aside from the fact that the Democrats do not have the numbers, why are they not doing that now? Because from my vantage point it looks like the Democrats are sitting on their hands doing nothing. At least that is what we are experiencing here in the mid-west. I wish they would do something!

Given the fact that the Dems & the Reps are diametrically opposed to each other, whoever has the power of the senate and is able to host a 2/3 majority, they would have got him out. But the Reps have been in unison voting against the Dems. So the Dems couldn’t really do anything.

I still don’t understand how I am “romanticizing it!” There is nothing romantic about being intolerant! And Popper’s concept isn’t just “ … great on paper but …” I spoke with a member of a church I know. They asked, “if a MAGA came to church, shouldn’t we welcome them?”

Not sure what you mean by "over-romanticize." I do know that the current regime doesn't tolerate anything or anyone not within their class or their "secret society." This is the direct result of the USA trying to be tolerant of so many! The intolerant took hold and here we are!

You really should read about the "Paradox of Tolerance!" If you have a group of people who wish to welcome others, but there are people who say "NO! We shouldn't" then I believe those are the very people we should be intolerant of!
