I’ve been watching Zoe’s actress stream the original Control and the people there seem pretty chill. Even at times when she’s like “oh this part is too hard” or “this map layout is so frustrating” the people in chat are like “yeah I didn’t love that either”. Maybe her overall fanbase is smaller? 🤷‍♂️

IMHO it’s a ok if a game doesn’t noticeably upgrade the player. And it’s ok if you end up fighting the same enemy pretty much the whole time with little variation (hello OG Control!). Both together is kind of rough.

For League you can usually get away with using modded skins as long as it doesn't actually show on the server side and is only on your own screen. If it transmits to other players it's a ban, which I get for competitive integrity reasons.

I don't know if you've seen the clip but their Chief Product Officer was doing an interview explaining it and flat out said they made it opt in by default because if they made it opt out be default basically no one would do it.
