Folks .. I found a fuzzy blue fish toy for my kitten .. it’s got an elastic bouncy feature and also has feathers for a tail so I think I killed it with his purchase .. it was five dollars. 🤠

So the new kitten and my old friend seem to be getting along great. She is so patient and relaxed .. kind of like a mom. Meanwhile the kitten is pure chaos :)

What a great photo! anhingas are so fun to watch when they’re fishing .. they can swim like penguins under the water. That looks like a speckled perch that’s for dinner. They are delicious by the way.

Folks .. check out this little friend that I plucked off the hot asphalt near the wood shop. Tried all afternoon to find his mama but no luck. Hard to explain how tiny this little guy is. Just barely old enough to eat solid food but I’ve got some kitten baby formula to supplement.

Folks .. Check out this cool oak snake that’s hanging out on the sago palm next to the birdfeeder right now! Such a beautiful pattern with the exact colors for camouflage in these woods. And this one’s sporting a few lumps so seemingly well fed right now :)

The snake I see the most around here are oak snakes .. a kind of rat snake. Old-timers will tell you that having a rat snake in your woodshop is good luck .. wont need a mouse trap. Here’s one trying to catch a hummingbird. Found him before he had a lump in his body :)

Check out who came for a visit this morning to enjoy the water from the sprinkler (we are struggling in the midst of a historic drought) such an amazing creature .. they’re coming out of hibernation. It (he/she?) was catching droplets of water in mid air from the sprinkler pretty cool
