Adnams "Smidgin" is the only one worth drinking IMNSHO. It's £27 for a tiny bottle - but it lasts for ages because you need only ½ a teaspoon with a standard size mixer. (It's also 50% ABV in the bottle, so presumably does get hit for duty - but super concentrated so 0.5% ABV in your glass)

Fond memories of the Barmy Army in Australia singing "we get three dollars to the pound" (to the tune of "he's got the whole world in his hand"). $1.92 today.

Being able to fix your own bike(s) is such a great advantage. Metal tyre levers can be a bit hard on the rims though - I like the "Pedro's" brand levers, which normally do the trick for me. (Also - if you haven't seen them, the Park Tools YouTube videos are a great resource)

Saw The Proclaimers at Towersey festival a few years ago. Enjoyed them far more than I thought I was going to. But I don't think I've bothered to seek out their music since, so I must not be fully mature.

The triple bay of windows on the first floor right in the middle of the photo was my room in my 2nd year studying physics at Keble. I could look out of my window and see everyone going in to the lectures, and then an hour later, see them all coming out again.

Fun weekend tutoring Northumbrian Smallpipes at Halsway Manor. Although I confess that I didn't necessarily nail all the triplets in "Madame Bonaparte" - the traditional end to the tutors' concert... (I blame Andy)

Just found this trio of old photos of me with my first full set of Highland pipes. I hadn't quite grown into them!
Three photos of a me aged about 10 wearing a kilt and playing a set of Highland pipes that look *way* too big for me.

There are some similarities of course - bellows-blown, and closed fingering - as well as (hopefully) an evocative sound. There are common ancestor pipes in I think about 1800 or so.
