Bewilders me. In all parties but especially on the right, they have all been to University. They all - or most of them - have degrees. By their measure, they are smart people. But you listen to some of them and wonder how they are let out alone. Some are confused putting trousers on. Thick as mince.

While I can see how some people could feel uncomfortable in the current climate, the story on the radio of the guy with the luggage doesn't work in practice. He's sat on a train, with his wife next to him, and he covers the motif on his luggage. That doesn't work. Sorry, no sale.

Years ago, someone gave me some tickets to go and see Jackie Mason. I'd only seen him in a couple of films, but man, it was one of the best gigs I have ever been to. And he was so nice, as well. I miss seeing people like him. Knew his stuff, had his act polished and just was a plain nice person.
