I think it's funny that Microsoft word continues to mark "copse" as a spelling error when every author in the world seems to be hell bent on using that word

Listen, buying a Dunkings meal deal at 7 pm on Valentine's Day is already a grim scene but having to carry it home in a hot pink happy meal box and then discovering your vegetarian egg & cheese has sausage in it and having to go BACK? I'm a stronger person now than I was an hour ago that's for sure

It is perfectly legal to know your rights and to educate others about them, too. EVERYONE in the United States, citizen or not, has rights. I will not allow this administration to intimidate us from helping you know about them. Here’s our shareable guide ⬇️: (pt. 1/2)

KNOW YOUR
RIGHTS
IN CASE OF ICE:
CONOCE TUS DERECHOS
EN CASO DE ENCUENTRO CON ICE:

DO NOT OPEN YOUR DOOR.
ICE cannot enter your home without a warrant signed by a judge.
Tell the agents to show you the warrant by sliding it under the door.
NO ABRAS TU PUERTA.
ICE no puede entrar a tu casa sin una orden firmada por un juez. Diles a los agentes que te muestren la orden deslizándola debajo de la puerta.

ASK THEM
TO LEAVE.
If ICE doesn't have a warrant, tell them you do not consent for them to enter your home and ask them to leave. At work, ICE cannot enter employee-only areas without permission.
2

REMAIN SILENT.
You have the right to remain silent.
If the agents ask you questions, tell them,
"I wish to remain silent."
PERMANECE EN SILENCIO.
Tienes derecho a permanecer en silencio.
Si los agentes te hacen preguntas, diles:
"Deseo permanecer en silencio".

One of my dream #MSWL books is a horror novel set in a cave -- think The Descent for books. Claustrophobic, dark, encroaching madness...bonus points for historical setting, an ambiguous ending, or a queer romance subplot. Antarctica horror would be cool too I guess 💁‍♀️

I’ve got a book coming out and Barnes & Nobles has a 25% off sale! www.barnesandnoble.com/w/an-amateur...

Bright blue background with dripping black goo. Clawed pitch black hands reach up a book titled An Amateur Witch’s Guide to Murder. Bright pink text says there’s a 25% off sale at Barnes & Nobles Feb 5th thru 7th.

AN AMATUER WITCH'S GUIDE TO MURDER
ABOUT THE BOOK:

THE DRESDEN FILES MEETS THE QUEER-CHAOS OF GIDEON THE NINTH.

MATEO BORRERO HAS NINETY-NINE PROBLEMS, AND THEY ALL HINGE ON THE FACT THAT HIS BRUJA MOTHER TURNED HIM INTO THE VESSEL FOR AN ANCIENT EVIL AND THEN BOUNCED.

BUT WHEN TOPHER WALKS IN, CURSED, EXTREMELY RICH, (KIND OF CUTE IN A SCARED RABBIT SORT OF WAY), AND HOPING FOR HELP, MATEO DECIDES HE CAN EARN CASH FOR THAT EXORCISM HE REALLY NEEDS WITH A SIDE HUSTLE LIFTING HEXES.

NEVER MIND THAT HE DOESN'T ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT HE'S DOING... OR THAT USING MAGIC ACCELERATES HIS POSSESSION.

This is one of my favorite recent covers we've put out at Crooked Lane, designed by the talented Meghan Deist. I love the text color on this design!

I'm so excited to be part of the team bringing @kvalentinwrites.bsky.social 's book AN AMATEUR WITCH'S GUIDE TO MURDER to shelves this fall. This book is genuinely laugh-out-loud funny and who doesn't love witchcraft with sides of romance and cannibalism?? #fantasy #mystery #booksky #publishing

I'm actively acquiring and looking primarily for these genres at the moment! #mswl #thrillers #horror #fantasy #publishing #fiction #querying

Manuscript wishlist - what I'm looking for this year: horror, psychological thrillers, light fantasy / contemporary fantasy, upmarket fiction

Horror: hauntings and possessions, social commentary, grounded in the real world, gothic atmospheric, campy, genuinely scary, caves or Antarctica. Photos of the book covers of Witchcraft for Wayward Girls, Bury Your Gays, Incidents Around the House, The Eyes Are the Best Part, This Cursed House, House of Hunger.

Thrillers: serial killers, unreliable narrators, deranged women, fast popcorn reads, found footage formats, high concepts / hooky, no action/spy/cop/heist thrillers. Photos of the books Sharp Objects, The Push, You, Listen for the Lie, The Silent Patient

Fantasy: fantasy elements in the real world, witches and vampires, light and cozy or upmarket and atmospheric, high stakes but character driven, folklore inspired. Photos of the books Under the Whispering Door, Legends and Lattes, The Unmaking of June Farrow, The Village Library Demon Hunting Society, A Grim Reapers Guide to Catching a Killer, The Hollow and the Haunted
