So as it turns out, when your whole town burns down, 30 of your friends lose everything, and 18 of your neighbors die a horrible death (in part) because climate change helped delay the rainy season by multiple months, you suddenly don't give a fucking shit about what any climate deniers says.

Trash pickup day 2,095. This was a 60 minute cleanup. #EarthCleanUp Wandered as far back as one can go in this canyon. Pulled two ticks off my jeans, which is why I always wear long pants even on the 115°F+ afternoons. Western Fence Lizards keep the Lyme disease at bay in SoCal, though.

Trash pickup day 2,093. This was a 20 minute cleanup. #EarthCleanUp I still miss my park. Everything I knew about it is gone. The shape of the creek, the little waterfalls, the boulders, many of the trees. The Nature Center, our native plant nursery. The people. It is still all gone.

It has been 5 months since we last received precipitation in many parts of L.A. (though it's been our dry season.) Drought conditions are returning to California, and with a +TNH pattern quickly taking shape, California is likely entering the next episode of its megadrought.

I read this one comment, and it immediately changed my mind. I remained on Twitter to fight misinformation. It is now obvious to me that I can never win on that platform. Misinformation is too rampant. I will gladly do my part to help destroy what was once a great app now turned into a wasteland.

An old map of my park from the 1990s: I do not recognize the shape of the creek, parts of the main trail's route, or the bottoms of all the little side canyons flowing into the main wash. Compare this to an arial map from the 1970s, and it too is very different from both today and the 1990s.
