i dont think they understood that the existence of ads wasnt the infuriating part, its that youtube would allow this type of unavoidable ad placement to even happen usually i can reopen like 2 or 3 times and the video plays fine (its faster than letting the ad play) but then you get crap like this-

insomniac you could do the funniest thing right now and “patch” the game so that the “default” settings are harder, but all you’re really doing is switching the settings for the players, a task any one of them could do by themselves

I wasn’t talking about the trails, I was talking about the objective markers and HUD elements. The trails I’m not that bothered by, they’re a narrative setpiece. And given how obvious the world design is anyway, I doubt they were made as a guide. Annoying? Kinda. Patronizing? Not intentionally.

Sorry I sound mean, but imagine the other way around: Game starts on a super hard difficulty, so you complain. What would the other players tell you? Change the difficulty. If Insomniac DIDNT have all those settings, THEN I’d understand. But here…? They included those settings for a reason.

not a big fan of the “insomniac thinks your an idiot” narrative. especially when they’re known for having a LOT of accessibility/difficulty features this is dark souls easy mode all over again. if you know you’re not the less-experienced player the devs want to attract, change the difficulty.

i wanna give Insomniac the benefit of the doubt. i think since the level design is already so linear, im pretty sure the scent trail was never meant to be taken as “hand-holding” i wanna believe the devs just thought Logan following a scent looked cool.

And of course those features can be turned off. after that the trail will just feel like one of logan’s powers so its fine. to me its worth complaining this much if there WERENT options i dont believe insomniac doesnt trust us, more like they want less experienced players to enjoy the game too

i think this whole thing is blown out of proportion the trail is a narrative device cause he has scent tracking abilities, and an EMBARASSING amount of people are somehow convinced it's a nav feature that'll stay for the entire game. it's only for the tracking missions. calm down.

Only seen the pilot so far, but it's good. Small tangent though, I think spin-offs of animated shows should have it's own art style. Kind of a double-edged sword since that familiarity is an easy draw, but it'd also be interesting to change the look so it feels more distinct.
